At Smith Street Maternelle, summer is full of songs, stories, water play, paint-covered hands, new friendships, and French woven naturally into every part of the day from June 29 to August 21.
Our French immersion summer camp welcomes children ages 2–8 for joyful, play-based weeks of art, music, movement, storytelling, outdoor exploration, and imaginative projects. Children do not need to speak French to join us. Some arrive fluent, some arrive curious, and some arrive knowing only bonjour — our teachers meet each child where they are and help them feel at home in the language.
Camp takes place across our three Brooklyn campuses:
- Brooklyn Heights — 80 Clinton Street
- Carroll Gardens — 607 Henry Street
- Gowanus — 388 Carroll Street
Families may enroll for one week, several weeks, or the full summer. Each week brings a new theme, new activities, and plenty of time for children to play, create, move, and enjoy long summer days with friends. Schedule options include:
- Morning session: 9:00–11:30 AM
- Full day: until 2:30 PM
- Extended day: until 4:00 PM
Smith Street Maternelle’s summer camp is open to all language levels and offers a warm, bilingual environment where children can deepen their French, begin their French journey, or simply stay connected to the language over the summer in a relaxed and happy way.
