Best spots for Mother’s Day brunch in Brooklyn

Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday, May 12. BoCoCa

Café Luluc | Open 9am-10pm daily

This casual neighborhood French eatery with garden seating serves brunch staples like eggs benedict, french toast, and pancakes. Cash only! Note: Café Luluc only accepts walk-ins, but they are open at 9am daily.

Gersi | 10am-4pm

Gersi’s brunch menu includes bruschetta, baked eggs, sandwiches, plus more sweet and savory brunch fare. Pair your dish with brunch cocktail: they serve Mimosas, Bloody Marys, Aperol Spritzes, an Italian Salty Dog gin with grapefruit, and more. Children are welcome! Reserve here.

Luana’s Tavern | 11am-4pm

Luana’s is a local family-owned tavern founded by a husband & wife team who met at the tavern 14 years ago when it was a bar. Enjoy Mother’s Day brunch indoors or on their outdoor patio. The brunch menu includes ricotta pancakes, PB&J french toast, omelettes, and breakfast sandwiches. They have a kid’s brunch menu with scrambled eggs, pigs in a blanket, avocado toast, mac and cheese and more. They even have complimentary dog treats! Reserve here.

Santo Brúklin | 11am-4:30pm

Santo Brúklin is a great family-friendly spot serving Brazilian-style brunch with creative cocktails. Located on Court Street, Santo Brúklin has a covered and heated outdoor patio. Reserve here.

 

Brooklyn Heights

Chama Mama | 10am-4pm 

Chama Mama serves Georgian cuisine with a modern twist. Brunch includes traditional dishes such as Khachapuri, Khinkali (Georgian dumplings), and Jonjoli salad, along with sunny side eggs with kebab, a Georgian style doughnut with chocolate, and Georgian style bread pudding. Reserve here.

Inga’s Bar | 10am-3pm

Located on a quiet corner in Brooklyn Heights, Inga’s Bar is a neighborhood bistro with a lively bar and an ever-changing menu of food and cocktails. Reserve here for Mother’s Day.

Iris Cafe | Open 8am-4:30pm Sundays 

Overlooking Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 5, Iris Cafe is a family-friendly spot to enjoy brunch with view of the waterfront. Brunch specials include shakshouka, a Portuguese egg sandwich, shrimp ceviche, and more. Reserve here.

River Deli | 11:30am-3:50pm

River Deli is a Sardinian restaurant that serves many type of egg dishes, bruschetta, pasta, and salad for brunch, plus cocktails and amari. River Deli is cash only. Reservations for 4 people or more can be made here.

 

DUMBO & Vinegar Hill

AlMar | 11:30am-4pm

AlMar’s brunch menu features lemon ricotta pancakes, baked eggs, avocado toast, plus pasta and main courses like eggplant parmigiana and seasonal fish. Reserve here.

bar56 | 12-7pm

bar56, which serves a seasonally-driven modern American menu, will be offering a special menu on Mother’s Day. In addition to the a la carte menu and four-course Prix Fixe for $85, Mother’s Day specials include Meadow Creek Egg Frittata with Caviar, Potato, Crème Fraîche ($28), Scotch Egg with White Asparagus, Mescal Sabayon ($27), and Rhubarb Mille Feuille with Tonka Bean, Diplomat Crème ($13). Full menu details are online, and reservations are available on Resy now. Guests can also take mom for a free wine tasting beforehand at their sister wine shop, taste56 which offers tastings for 56 featured wines.

The Osprey | 9am-3pm

Located at the 1 Hotel, The Osprey serves weekend brunch with beautiful views of Brooklyn Bridge Park. The menu features both savory and sweet brunch fare, with options that are vegan, vegetarian gluten free, dairy free, and nut free. Reserve here.

Superfine | 11am-4pm

Superfine’s always a great destination for Sunday brunch with live music from 12 to 3:30. Celebrate Mother’s Day in their spacious loft-style restaurant under the Manhattan Bridge. Superfine serves brunch classics as well as huevos rancheros, enchiladas suizas, and pork chop & eggs. Info about reservations here.

Vinegar Hill House | 10am-3pm

Vinegar Hill House is nestled on a quiet cobblestone street, and is a lovely place to dine indoors or outdoors on their cozy backyard. Their brunch features an apple sourdough pancake, smoked steelhead trout, and spinach, caramelized onion & fontina quiche. Reserve here.

 

Fort Greene & Clinton Hill

Aita | 11am-3:30pm

Aita serves Italian food and natural wine both indoors and outdoors. They serve in their heated Outdoor Gazebo all year-round. The restaurant is kid-friendly and has high chairs and booster seats. Outdoor tables also safely support clip-on high chairs if families prefer to bring their own. Brunch dishes include a crab cake benedict, beef cheek hash, spaghetti carbonara, and traditional brunch items as well. Reserve here.

Café Paulette | 10am-3pm

Café Paulette is steps away from Fort Greene Park and serves authentic Parisian bistro food and natural wines. There is a large outdoor patio as well as indoor seating. Brunch reservations are only accepted for 10-11am; after that, it is first-come, first served. Reserve here.

Colonia Verde | 10am-3pm

Colonia Verde serves Latin American fire-grilled meats and seafoods and creative cocktails in their dining room, indoor greenhouse, and open-air patio. Their brunch menu features breakfast tacos, sausage and veggie parrillada, a breakfast arepa, chilaquiles, and more. Reserve here. Note: Colonia Verde is currently only taking online reservations for indoor tables in the Indoor Greenhouse and Bar Room. To reserve an outdoor table on the heated and covered (but open-air) Outdoor Patio, call the restaurant.

Evelina | 10am-3:30pm

Evelina is a contemporary Italian trattoria that pairs a seasonal and daily changing menu with a robust wine and cocktail program. The brunch menu has elegant cocktails, sweet dishes like lemon ricotta pancakes and french toast, and prosciutto di parma eggs benedict, lobster scramble, and bavette steak. Reserve here.

Peaches Prime | Gotham Market at The Ashland | 12-4pm

Join us on Mother’s Day to celebrate the most important person in your life. On May 12th, Peaches Prime will offer a multi-course menu with something for everyone in the family as well as a special surprise to finish off your meal! Reserve early as tables book up quickly on this special day. Reservations are for parties of 1 to 6; $10 deposit per person.

 

Park Slope

Palo Santo | 10am-3pm

Palo Santo serves pan-Latin cooking in a beautiful brownstone on Union Street. Indoor and outdoor dining are both available. The menu changes daily, but some favorites include the farmer’s egg sandwich, chilaquiles, and grilled fish tacos. Reserve here.

Rana Fifteen | 11am-2:30pm

This Aegean/Western Turkish restaurant offers a $35/person brunch that begins with cilbir (poached eggs with yogurt and brown butter) or menemen (eggs with tomatoes and peppers), followed family-style dishes with borek (spinach and cheese), soujuk (sausage), artichoke spread, tahini, and more. Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Yellow Magnolia Café | 11am-4:30pm

Ainslie | 11am-4pm

Ainslie’s $32 pre-fixe weekend brunch includes unlimited brunch cocktails with any entrée—try their spiked ice tea, mimosa, or bellini with prosecco and white peach nectar. Reserve here.

Five Leaves | Open 8am-11pm daily

Fives Leaves is an Australian-New American bistro that is well-established in Greenpoint. The brunch menu includes a Moroccan scramble, “Big Breakky,” as well as eggs, pancakes, avocado toast, sandwiches, and more. Note: They do not accept reservations for Saturday and Sunday, but they are open starting at 8am every day!

Leuca | 11am-4pm

The William Vale’s restaurant Leuca will be offering an à la carte menu with additional specials on Mother’s Day. Celebrate this holiday with a Southern Italian brunch! Treat your angel with wood-fired pizzas, specialty Italian brunch cocktails and Mother’s Day specials including Saffron Pappardelle with Lobster and Steak Tartare with Calabrian Chili Aioli.
