Best trick-or-treating streets in our neighborhoods

Our overview of Halloween trick-or-treating locations includes the best spots for candy and spooky fun in Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Boerum Hill & Downtown Brooklyn, Cobble Hill & Carroll Gardens, Fort Greene & Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Bed Stuy, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint.

Brooklyn Heights

  • Garden Place | Joralemon Street to State Street | One of the most popular streets in Brooklyn for trick or treating, the fun on Garden Place usually starts around 4pm and runs all afternoon until dusk, or when everybody runs out of candy!
  • Willowtown Halloween | Joralemon Street from Furman Street to Hicks Street | Enter on Joralemon Street at Hicks Street for Willowtown’s Halloween, with a full street closure from 4-8pm. Willow Place and Columbia Place will also be closed to traffic.

DUMBO

  • Dumboween | 50+ small businesses hand out candy on Halloween from 4-7pm (while supplies last.) Look for the pumpkin sign in the window of participating locations, or click here for a map!

Cobble Hill & Carroll Gardens

  • Strong Place | Kane Street to Degraw Street
  • Tompkins Place | Kane Street to Degraw Street
  • Cobble Hill Halloween Parade | Music by the Brass Queens starts in Cobble Hill Park at 3:30pm, and the parade leaves from the Congress Street entrance exactly at 4pm. After the parade the streets will stay closed for some amazing trick-or-treating and people watching.
  • Clinton Street | A very popular street for trick or treating following the Cobble Hill Halloween Parade, all the way to Carroll Gardens.
  • Congress Street | Court Street to Columbia Street
  • Bergen Street | Hoyt Street to Bond Street
  • Henry Street | Warren Street to Carroll Street
  • Scotto Funeral Home | Court Street & First Place | Every Halloween, the staff of this Carroll Gardens business puts on an excellent Halloween display from 3:30 to 7pm and hands out candy.
  • West 9th Street | Henry Street to Hicks Street
  • Smith Street businesses
  • Court Street businesses

Boerum Hill

  • From Nevins Street to Smith Street | Between Atlantic Avenue and St. Marks Place
  • Hoyt Street | State Street to Atlantic Avenue
  • Dean Street | Bond Street to Nevins Street
  • Open Streets in Boerum Hill:
    • State Street | Nevins Street to 3rd Avenue | 6-10pm

Fort Greene & Clinton Hill

  • BAMboo! | This family-friendly Halloween Party at BAM is happening from 4-7pm, with candy giveaways, carnival games, arts and crafts, trick-or-treat popcorn, and kid-friendly short films in the BAM Rose Cinemas.
  • Myrtle Monster Mash | Come to the Myrtle Avenue Plaza from 4-6pm. There will be a live DJ, dancing, spooky games, and sweet treats!
  • Myrtle Avenue businesses
  • Clinton Avenue | Myrtle Avenue to Gates Avenue
  • St. James Place | Dekalb Avenue to Atlantic Avenue
  • Open Streets in Fort Greene & Clinton Hill:
    • Waverly Avenue | Dekalb Avenue to Willoughby Avenue | Annual Halloween Walk & Pam Fleming’s Dead Zombie Band |  5-9pm

Prospect Heights

  • Vanderbilt Avenue businesses
  • Open Streets in Prospect Heights:
    • Prospect Place | Grand Avenue to Classon Avenue | 1-8pm
    • Park Place | Vanderbilt Avenue to Underhill Avenue | 5-8pm
    • Underhill Avenue | Prospect Place to Sterling Place | 5-8pm
      • On Park Place and Underhill Avenue, there will be live music from The Villagers brass band from 5pm-6pm! Learn more here!

Park Slope

  • Park Slope Halloween Parade | Neighborhood trick-or-treating will begin at 3pm. At 6pm, folks can queue up for the parade at 14th Street and 7th Avenue. at 6:30, the Park Slope Civic Council will kick off the parade. The parade will continue down 7th Avenue toward 3rd Street, then left on 3rd Street, ending at the Old Stone House.
  • Boo!KCM Halloween Celebration | BKCM’s free, family-friendly Halloween garden party will take place from 4-6pm. There will be live music, of course, and plenty of candy. RSVP here!
  • Fifth Avenue businesses
  • Seventh Avenue businesses
  • 3rd Street | 5th Avenue to 7th Avenue
  • 7th Street | 5th Avenue to 4th Avenue
  • Open Streets in Park Slope:
    • 11th Street |  8th Avenue to Prospect Park West | 2-11pm
    • 17th Street | 7th Avenue to 8th Avenue | 3:30-10pm
    • Polhemus Place | Carroll Street to Garfield Place | 4-9pm
    • Garfield Place | 7th Avenue to 8th Avenue | 3-9pm

Red Hook

  • Open Streets in Red Hook:
    • Reed Street (outside Hometown BBQ) | Conover Street to Van Brunt Street | 4-9pm | Join for the Hometown BBQ Halloween Party, with pumpkin carving, a fire truck, donuts, hot cider, a whole hog, and festbier!

Bed Stuy

Williamsburg

  • Bedford Street and Berry Street | Between Metropolitan Avenue and North 11th Street
  • Graham Avenue | Richardson Street to Metropolitan Avenue
  • Open Streets in East Williamsburg:
    • Humboldt Street | Varet Street to Moore Street | 3-5pm

Greenpoint

  • McGhoulrick Halloween | Come to McGolrick Park at 3pm for their annual Halloween celebration. There will be games, dancing, candy, and a children’s parade! Monitor Street from Nassau Avenue to Driggs Avenue will be car-free from 4-8pm.
  • Blocks between Driggs Avenue and Nassau Avenue, east of McGolrick Park
  • Oak Street | To Guernsey Street
  • Milton Street and Noble Street | Between Franklin Street and Manhattan Avenue
  • Franklin Street | Oak Street to Huron Street
