Debut BKLYN Family Leadership Summit draws crowd and sparks connections

As Brooklyn continues to grow as a home for families, new patterns of family life, spending, and connection are emerging across the borough. To explore what this means—and what comes next—leaders across culture, philanthropy, community, and business came together for the inaugural BKLYN Family Leadership Summit. Hosted by Brooklyn Bridge Parents, the breakfast summit took place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at City Point in Downtown Brooklyn.

Focused on family life, culture, and commerce, the morning program featured opening remarks from Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, followed by presentations, networking, and two dynamic panel conversations—“How Brooklyn Families Live, Play & Connect” and “2026: Creating Family Experiences in BKLYN”—designed to examine the evolving priorities of Brooklyn families and how the borough’s cultural, civic, and business leaders can help shape meaningful experiences in the year ahead.

“My experience raising my two sons in Brooklyn deeply shapes how I approach community development and supporting families in the borough,” said Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. “The BKLYN Family Leadership Summit brings together people who care deeply about cultivating impactful experiences, opportunities, and support systems for Brooklyn’s families. From implementing universal childcare to creating more third spaces for young people, I’m excited to share my vision for supporting the next generation of Brooklynites and their parents.”

“It is an honor to bring together this incredible group of community activists, entrepreneurs, creatives, and change makers who serve Brooklyn families every day. The inaugural BKLYN Family Leadership Summit has created space for meaningful conversation about how families experience Brooklyn and how we can continue to connect with them, adds Katharina Goetz, President of Brooklyn Bridge Parents.”

“Thank you so much for bringing us together and for the care you put into shaping the BKLYN Family Leadership Summit. It was energizing to be part of a room that centered families, creativity, and practical ideas for how Brooklyn shows up for one another. It was truly an honor to be in conversation with my fellow panelists. The thoughtfulness, generosity, and depth they each brought made the dialogue feel both grounded and inspiring. Grateful to Brooklyn Org, City Point, Concrete Communications, and Brooklyn Bridge Parents for the partnership and vision. ” shared panelist Maria Carrasco, VP of Public Programs Prospect Park
