Council Member Lincoln Restler and the Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation will co-fund the renovation and expansion of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s Environmental Education Center in DUMBO, each contributing around half a million $. The planned renovations will create additional classroom and community spaces doubling the size of the center and allowing more Brooklyn kids to learn about the ecology, history, and infrastructure of the Brooklyn waterfront. Work will not begin until 2023, with a goal of minimizing disruption to programming in the space as much as possible.
