Brooklyn Heights news – Cadman Plaza turf renewal, retail news and more

The synthetic turf field at Cadman Plaza Park will be closed for reconstruction for an estimated 2 to 3 months starting mid August. The surrounding seating and grass will remain open to the public during replacement.

Chama Mama is now open on Montague Street offering Georgian cuisine with a modern twist. Their signature bread and cheese filled bread dishes are baked daily in the large clay oven in house. Check the full menu here.

Spirit Halloween costume store will be opening at 170 Montague Street temporarily for the Halloween season.

Poppy’s is taking over the old space of Cranberry’s scheduled to open this fall. Poppy’s is a beloved seasonal, prepared foods market, café, and caterer that’s been in business in Cobble Hill since 2013.

Kiddie Korner Preschool with one location on Montague is expanding! They are opening another preschool campus and Teen Lounge at 130 Montague Street in the fall of 2024, in the building that had a fire a while back.

Overweight trucks traveling in the Queens-bound lanes of the BQE’s Triple Cantilever will be hit with $650 fines beginning Nov. 8. The rollout for trucks traveling south towards Staten Island will begin later this year.
