At Brooklyn Independent Middle School (Fort Greene), we get that middle school can be scary. That’s why we create an inclusive and vibrant learning environment where kids can stay kids while making that tough transition to high school. We dare to serve kids differently—we dare to care!
Founded by middle school veterans with over 30+ years of combined education experience, we offer a balanced program of rigorous curriculum + real-life application so kids don’t just learn—they love learning. Students benefit from 20+ elective offerings, hands-on projects, and regular cultural immersion in NYC.
As a private school with a public mission, we use a unique sliding-scale tuition model ranging from $0-49K. In fact, 90% of our families join us from public elementary schools, reflecting how accessible BKI really is.
Reservations for our BKI Fall Info Sessions are now open! Learn more about BKI and experience a classroom in action by signing up for a fall info session or get in touch with us directly at admissions@bkindependent.org.
