Chanukah celebrations for families in our neighborhoods in Brooklyn

Our overview of upcoming family-friendly Chanukah events in Park Slope, Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens and DUMBO. All events are open to the public, all are welcome.

City Point Holiday Hub | Downtown Brooklyn | 12/3

Menorah making, dreidel cookie decorating (12 to 2 pm), Legos, block building from 11 am to 3 pm at the City Point Holiday Hub. Free RSVP here. Please note all activities and programming will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Family Hanukkah Party at Kane Street Synagogue | Cobble Hill | 12/3

An event for children ages 1 to 6 and their families featuring crafts, cookie decorating, games, and a sing along with Landon Braverman! Tickets are $10 per family. All are welcome! Sunday, December 3 from 10:30 am to 12 pm. RSVP here.

Festival of Books @ Brooklyn Heights Synagogue | Brooklyn Heights | 12/3

Come join our annual Festival of Books event with so much to do for the whole family! From dreidel making and Chanukah themed bookmark decorating to a bouncy castle, authors to meet, and a chance to do all of your Chanukah shopping at the Fork and Pencil book sale while also supporting BHS. This is open to all families with children. December 3rd 10-1:30pm. Costs: Adults are free; $25 pass bracelets for children to participate in activities. RSVP here.

Hanukkah Community Arts Festival | Carroll Gardens | 12/3

An afternoon full of family fun with holiday-focused art workshops from our partners around the Brooklyn Jewish community. Enjoy step-by-step art stations for projects such as cookie decorating, dreidel painting, menorah crafting, along with music, storytime, yummy snacks, and so much more! Sunday, December 3rd from 1 to 3npm at Hannah Senesh Community Day School. Cost: $5 per child age 2 and up (no charge for grownups or children under 2). RSVP here.

Tot Chanukah Candle Lighting | Brooklyn Heights | 12/7

Join us as we celebrate Chanukah together. Sing along to our favorite songs, light the candles, eat latkes and donuts and celebrate with friends. Best for families with children ages 2 to Pre-K (Babies are welcome!) on Thursday, December 7th 4 to 5 pm. Brooklyn Heights Synagogue Preschool / 131 Remsen Street. Free RSVP here.

Menorah Lighting | Grand Army Plaza | 12/7

The Largest Menorah in Brooklyn has been towering over New York since 1985 and is a must on everyone’s calendar, Jews and non-Jews alike. The Menorah lighting celebration and concert are all free of charge. There’s a kick off concert on Thursday, December 7 at 5 pm, and each subsequent night of Hanukkah is celebrated with music, latkes, and gifts. All details here.

Chanukah on Ice | Brooklyn Bridge Park | 12/7

Ice skating under the Brooklyn Bridge and then Ligth the menorah on the first night of Chanukah at Glide Brooklyn Bridge Park from 4.30 to 5.30 pm. Special discounted tickets with Chabad of DUMBO $15 per person. For tickets, email jewishdumbo@gmail.com.

Borough Hall Hanukkah celebration | Downtown Boroklyn | 12/7

Chabad of Brooklyn Heights presents a FREE Chanukah Concert starring Gad Elbaz on Thursday, December 7th at 5PM. Come enjoy music, dancing, snacks and more at the Jacob J. Hecht Memorial Menorah in front of the Brooklyn Supreme Court.

Cobble Hill Menorah Lighting | Cobble Hill | 12/10

All are welcome to join us for a Chanukah Party & Menorah Lighting on Sunday, December 10th from 10 to 11 AM in Cobble Hill Park! Enjoy refreshments and dance with our fun, life-sized Dreidel Man!

Clinton Hill Chanukah Celebration | Chanukah | 12/10

This Sunday, December 10 at 5.30 pm Chanukah celebration and Menorah lighting for the entire family with kids prizes, music, donuts, latkes, dreidels and an ice Menorah outdoors at Myrtle Avenue Plaza.

Kiddie Korner Glow Party | Brooklyn Heights | 12/10

Kiddie Korner Presents its third annual CHANUKAH GLOW PARTY for children of all ages! Join us at 4 PM for food, fun, dancing, prizes, a magic show and MORE. Located at Kiddie Korner Preschool – 117 Remsen St. Wear white or neon to glow in the blacklights!

Chanukah at Jane’s Carousel | DUMBO | 12/11

Families are invited to join the Chanukah party at Jane’s Carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park hosted by the Chabad of DUMBO and DUMBO Gan preschool. Ice Menorah Lighting at 5.30 pm. Free rides, Hanukkah crafts, face painting and more. Suggested donation per family $40 in cash please. Free RSVP here.

Hanukkah Celebration | Atlantic Terminal Mall | 12/11

Gather around the menorah for a candle lighting ceremony, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. Plus themed arts & crafts for kids and much more. The event will take place on December 11th on the ground floor of Atlantic Terminal near Rumi from 5-6:30 PM, with the Menorah lighting taking place on Atlantic Terminal’s plaza from 6:30-7 PM. Chanukah at Carroll Park | Carroll Gardens | 12/12

Join the community on Tuesday, December 12 at 5.30 pm for an evening of light and joy at the Menorah lighting celebration with live music, donuts & latkes and a special program for Israel. Find out more here.

Menorah Lighting | DUMBO | 12/13

Join the Chabad of  DUMBO at the Menorah lighting event in the DUMBO Archway with hot cocoa, chocolate Gelt and entertainment on Wednesday, December 13 from 5 to 6 pm. No need to RSVP, just show up.
