Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the Festival of Love, the Festival of Colors or the Festival of Spring. This year, Holi will be celebrated on Friday, March 14 with family-friendly events the weekend of March 15 and 16.

The annual Holi celebration lets us shake off the winter blues and celebrate the arrival of spring.The Seaport invite you to join this celebration of the traditional Indian festival of colors! Bring the kids, bring your friends, and join us for a colorful day, which will include interactive dance performances and workshops, literary festival, delicious tastings, art activity, a puppet storytime, music and, of course, spirited fun with brightly colored powder.

Join Mixed Masala and BKCM in celebrating Holi, the Festival of Colors, on Sunday, March 16 at Prospect Park! The celebration begins at 3pm with picnicking and at Long Meadow (near Grand Army Plaza). Bring a blanket and snacks and enjoy the free concert. At 4pm attendees will be invited to join in the traditional celebration of throwing colored powder. We recommend that you wear white clothing and expect to get messy!

Brooklyn Children’s Museum is keeping the colorful celebrations going a little longer this year! On May 3, BCM and Ajna Dance Company are throwing a high-energy Holi Festival, complete with music, movement, and, of course, pounds of color powder for the ultimate color toss. Families are encouraged to wear white and get messy as the festival will travel to neighboring Brower Park to celebrate springtime, renewal, and joy. It’s the perfect way to keep the Holi spirit alive beyond March 14!
