Program Details: Bed-Stuy Sports is a co-ed, recreational youth flag football organization based in Brooklyn. Their mission is to connect more children with active play and athletics while developing and building confidence, learning teamwork, and other life skills. They offer regular seasons with games as well as skills development clinics. They are central Brooklyn’s only NFL-approved youth flag football affiliate.

Costs: Clinics start at $195. The fall recreational season is $375 including a jersey, or $300 if you register by August 21; the travel team is $500. Financial assistance is available by application.
Fall 2026: The nine-week recreational season runs Sundays from September 13 to November 8, 9 a.m. to noon, with each division’s exact start time released about two weeks beforehand. Registration is open and the $75 early-bird discount ends August 21, which brings the season to $300. The travel-competitive team plays local tournaments alongside it; its tryout is Friday, September 11, 6–7:30 p.m., and is mandatory for new and returning travel players. Program Details: 78 Youth Sports offers flag football leagues for players ages 7-16 regardless of skill level. Flag is an exhilarating, fast-paced sport that fosters friendships among teammates by introducing kids to the excitement of football all the while emphasizing teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship without the contact of traditional football. Our flag program is uniquely structured to create fair competition with balanced teams each season. Mandatory pre-season player evaluations produce an environment where kids of all skill levels are able to participate and thrive. Join the fun and watch your child take to the field.

Fall 2026: Registration is open, and on-time registration closes Friday, August 28 — after that, sign-ups go onto a waitlist, carry a $50 late fee and depend on space. Final player evaluations are September 1 at Van Voorhees, rosters and schedules go out September 7, and opening day is Saturday, September 12. Games also run over Columbus Day weekend (October 10-12) and Veterans Day weekend (November 7-8), with playoffs in late November. For the fall, games are at Van Voorhees Park and Washington Park, with Red Hook possibly added; Pier 5 is not on the fall schedule.

SFX Youth Sports | Park Slope
Program Details: SFX Flag Football was established in 2007, and is the original NFL-approved Flag Football League in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Their league is affiliated with the NFL Youth Flag Football Program, and is the only Flag Football league that plays in Prospect Park! The program is sponsored through the National Football League, which helps them to provide a fun and exciting way to learn the game of football in a non-contact way. The game is fast-paced and full of action while emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship. They have co-ed, girls only, and boys only offerings depending on the age group.

Costs: The cost is $300-$350 for the season.
Fall 2026: Registration is open, with separate co-ed and girls-only leagues. The regular season runs from mid-September to mid-November, with one game a week on a Saturday or Sunday; every team makes the single-elimination playoffs, which start in mid-November. Note that SFX moved to a new registration system this year, so older sign-up links no longer work — start from their registration page.
