Live at the Archway! Opening Night | DUMBO | Wednesday 6/14

The son of Haitian music royalty, Paul Beaubrun takes a break from his stints onThe Tonight Show + touring with Arcade Fire to bring his trio the Dumbo Archway. Craig Anthony Miller opens the season on the Art Wall of his fashioning! Doors at 5pm. Music at 6pm. In the Dumbo Archway.

Juneteenth Talent Showcase | PS 307 | Wednesday 6/14

The Juneteenth Talent Showcase is a fundraiser for the Brooklyn Diamonds cheer team. We are honoring black history through Music, Dance & Poetry.  The Diamonds, PS307 students, staff and alumni will perform. 6pm – 8pm doors open at 5:30pm, refreshments will be sold. $10 adults $5 school age children.

School’s Out Party | Brooklyn Heights | Thursday 6/15

Join the BHA for snacks and crafts at our annual gathering to celebrate school ending and summer fun beginning! Thursday June 15th from 4pm-5:30pm at Pierrepont Playground. This is a free event sponsored by the BHA and our Playground Committee.

Game Night in the Archway | DUMBO | Thursday 6/15

Hang out after work and meet fellow Dumbo creative companies with beer, music and organized + casual games. Lawn games and mind games. All fun. All together. Special games presented with Come Out and Play – New York’s favorite group game creators. Thursdays 5 to 7 pm in the Dumbo Archway.

Social Gathering | Cobble Hill Park | Thursday 6/15

Join neighbors and friends for a social hang in the park. Bring your own food and drinks. Thursday from 6 to 8 pm.

Dance & Music | Fort Greene Park | Friday 6/16

Watch master artists perform African and Diaspora Dance, then experience the joy and learn the movements through a class and a dance jam with the Cumbe Center. 4

Juneteenth Celebration | Downtown Brooklyn | Saturday 6/17

On Saturday June 17, 651 Arts and The Soapbox Presents take over The Plaza at 300 Ashland for We Outside!, 651’s third annual Juneteenth celebration! A day of Black brilliance and Black cultural contributions begins at noon! Look forward to Stoop Sessions live musical performances, the family-friendly Kid’s Korner, live deejays, the Young, Black and Gifted marching bands, majorettes, and steppers, a special visual arts installation, a dance party for the ages, a Black-made market, and so much more.

Waterfront Dance Party | Brooklyn Bridge Park | Saturday 6/17

On Saturday, June 17, Herbert Holler’s Freedom Party Outside brings music to the waterfront from 6:00 – 10:00 PM. Get ready for an unforgettable night of music, dancing, and pure summer fun! A legendary old-school dance party, Herbert Holler’s Freedom Party has been voted “Best Party”. RSVP’s encouraged; but walk-ups permitted as the space allows. This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the dance party starts at 7:00 PM.

Poplar St. Community Garden Party | Brooklyn Heights | Saturday 6/17

Garden tour, live music, gardening tips and tricks, planting and more fun for all ages on Saturday from 12 to 3 pm at the Poplar Street Community Garden in Brooklyn Heights.

Fishing clinics | Brooklyn Bridge Park | Sunday 6/18

Learn how to bait a hook, drop a line, and maybe even reel up a fish! Guided by our education team, learn the basics of rod and reel fishing while catching-and-releasing some of Brooklyn Bridge Park’s finest. Sunday, June 18: 10:00 AM-1:00 PM at Pier 5. All equipment provided.

NY Society of Play Open House | Downtown Brooklyn | Sunday 6/18

Join NY Society of Play for a FREE open house at 147 Prince Street! They will be running a demo of their epic game, Fantasy Frontier, a one-of-a-kind Live Action Role Playing (LARP) game. It combines the storytelling aspect of role-playing games with the physical engagement of sports! The result is a game where your child’s local park becomes a fantasy world filled with adventures, peril, and treasure! The choices players make are highly influential, the allies and enemies they make directly influence the progression of the story. The open house is geared towards ages 6-11, and runs 2pm-5pm on Sunday, 6/18, at 147 Prince Street, #206C. Free RSVP here.

“Fun”draiser | 7th Heaven St. Fair | Sunday 6/18

At 11 a.m., children’s performer Mr. Marc the MC kicks off the Friends of John Jay Jaguars Athletics’ 1ST Annual 7th Heaven Fundraising Community Festival. Basketball entertainer Jack “Blackjack” Ryan takes the stage (between 4th and 5th Sts) at 11:45 a.m. In the afternoon, the free show shifts to live music from Juan Ma Morales, Cellarhead and Michael Hill, mixes from DJ The Beyonder, a demo from the John Jay Jaguars Cheer Squad and pizza Eating Contest (5pm). Photoville photo exhibit | Brooklyn Bridge Park | Tuesday – Sunday

Photoville exhibit in Brooklyn Bridge Park with their classic shipping containers runs from June 3 to June 18 daily from 12 to 8 pm (closed Mondays). In total, there will be over 50 exhibitions all over Brooklyn Bridge Park, 18 of them in shipping containers and the rest of them open air installations.

Basketball clinics | Pier 2 | Tuesdays

Recommended for ages 7-17, join Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy for 2 hour basketball clinics led by KING Hoops. Learn basketball basics as head coaches lead participants through drills and games. Clinics run on Tuesdays from May 30 through July 25 at Pier 2. Clinics for ages 7 to 12 will be from 4 to 5 pm, while clinics for ages 13 to 17 will be from 5 to 6 pm. Advanced registration and waivers are required, although walk-up registrations can be accommodated as space allows. Registration will open at this link every Tuesday at 10 am for class the following week.

Kayaking | Pier 4 | Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays

Free family-friendly kayaking is offered throughout the summer on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons through September in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Find out more here.

Open Streets | Montague Street | Saturday 6/17

Tip toe through Montague Street Blooms, a 6-foot flower pop up park, and enjoy the magical public space, practice and learn to score goals, dribble, and zigzag from the pros at Super Soccer Stars, use your imagination to play with New York Society of Play. After you’ve worked up an appetite, visit Mad for Chicken, 80 Montague Street, where kids eat free from 12-5pm.

Ping Pong Happy Hour | Brooklyn Commons Park | Tuesdays

DJ Mike Doelo and The Push are back for another series of ping pong match ups on Tuesdays from 5 to 7.30 pm. Free RSVP here.

Storytime | McNally Jackson CityPoint | Tuesdays and Wednesdays

McNally Jackson bookstore is hosting free story times upstairs in their children’s section Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 4 pm for ages 4 to 8. No RSVP required, just show up.

Weekly story time on Saturdays at 11 am for kids ages 2 to 8 is back at the new Barnes & Noble location on Atlantic Avenue in Cobble Hill.

Youth Pride | Park Slope | Saturday 6/17

Come join LGBTQIA+ youth from all over Brooklyn for a Pride day exclusively made for you and your allies. Event runs from 12:00pm – 5:00pm with free food, craft table, airbrush artist, DJ and more. Showcase your artistic talent and decorate your OLD sneakers with your best Pride ideas that are focused on our 2023 Theme – “TOGETHER WE WILL”. 4th Street next to JJ Byrne Playground, Saturday, June 17th, 12-5pm.
