Free kid-friendly events this week in Brooklyn (10/27-11/2)

Halloween is here, and Brooklyn is bursting with spooky fun for all ages! All week long, you’ll find Halloween story times, music shows, and craft hours across the borough—and when Halloween night hits, the whole city turns into one giant costume party. Expect parades and trick-or-treating galore in Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Fort Greene, Downtown Brooklyn, Cobble Hill, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Bed-Stuy, Bay Ridge, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and beyond. Wherever you’re celebrating, we’ve got you covered! And after all the Halloween excitement, mark your calendar for Día de los Muertos festivities and get ready to cheer on NYC Marathon runners on Sunday morning.

Pick up your Trick or Streets bag & bingo card at Marcy Plaza, trick or treat at 40+ local businesses and collect stamps, then return to Marcy Plaza to enter a raffle for exciting prizes. There will also be free books, photo giveaways, live DJ music, and more at Marcy Plaza.

Halloween at Berry Street Garden | Williamsburg

Come to Berry Street Garden for their annual Halloween celebration! There will be kid-friendly decorations in the front area of the garden. The back of the garden will be bit more spookier for older children. In addition to the Halloween decorations, there will also be a treats, plus art by families in the community.

Starting this week, the Environmental Education Center will have Open Hours on Sundays from 1-5pm! Stop in to learn about the Park and local ecology, including a 10’ model of the Park, visit our tank critters include fish, turtles, and frogs, and enjoy rotating monthly themes with crafts and activities!

Red Hook Pinball Museum | Red Hook

Sundays | 1-10pm

With a new location at 362 Van Brunt Street, the Red Hook Pinball Museum is now open for free play (with donations accepted) every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 1-10pm! It’s NYC’s only vintage pinball museum, with games from 1871-1971, and you can play on the first pinball machine ever made!
