Jack and Friends Summer Concert Series: Moozika! at Park Slope Library | Park Slope

We are continuing our Jack and Friends Summer concert series with Moozika! Moozika! is singer-songwriter Jesse Goldman’s award-winning bilingual family music band and educational program based in Brooklyn. Named one of the top three “Absolute Best” kids’ music classes in NYC by New York Magazine, Moozika!’s playful Spanish – English tunes are powered by an ethos of big love and gentleness. For this show, Jesse will be performing solo tunes off his upcoming Moozika! album ‘We Are One.’ This program will have registration that will open 24 hours before the program begins. In the case of inclement weather, the program will be moved to our auditorium and only those registered will be admitted entry. * This restriction is due to the fire safety limit set by the fire marshal and is non-negotiable.

Tween Tuesdays: Anime Watch Party! @ Brooklyn Heights Library | Brooklyn Heights

Youth Basketball Clinic with King Hoops | Pier 2 @ Brooklyn Bridge Park

Tuesday, June 25 | 5-7pm | Ages 4-17 | Register here

Brooklyn Bridge Park is hosting free basketball clinics with King Hoops this summer for kids 4-17! Players may join for individual weeks or the full season. The first hour (5-6 PM) will be for beginner players who are brand new to the sport. Here they will teach the very basic fundamentals of the game, the rules of the game, and getting acclimated to having a ball in each player’s hands. The second hour (6 – 7 PM) is geared for advanced beginners to intermediate players who have played a little bit more basketball. Advanced registration and waivers are required. Play! a Pop-Up Obstacle Course @ Abolitionist Place | Downtown Brooklyn

Wednesday, June 26 | 2-5pm 

In partnership with Street Lab, we present, PLAY, a pop-up obstacle course. Join us for an afternoon filled with colorful barriers, hurdles with chalk drawings, a maze and racetrack. The program builds on Street Lab’s work at NYC play streets since 2013, and was designed from the ground up with industrial designer Hannah Berkin-Harper in response to COVID-19. The program launched in July 2020 in conjunction with the launch of the city’s first official Play Street Program.

Free Admission at New York Aquarium | Coney Island

Take advantage of free admission hours at the New York Aquarium in Coney Island, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Check out larger-than-life animal sculptures made out of repurposed marine debris in the current exhibition Washed Ashore, open through September 2. There’s so much to do while you’re in the neighborhood; check out our guide to planning a day trip to Coney Island this summer! Note that advance timed tickets are required; the Wednesday Afternoon Ticket Store will open on Monday at 3:00 pm for that Wednesday’s reservations. Do not come to the aquarium without a reserved ticket! There’s a maximum of 4 tickets per order.

Glide along the water this summer and fall in our protected embayment with free public kayaking! Free kayaking is offered throughout the summer on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons through September. All levels are welcome including first-time kayakers — life vests and all equipment provided, as well as instruction. Children under 18 must have an adult guardian present. Advance registration is required; make a reservation here. Do not walk-up without a registration, as they may not be able to accommodate you!

Atlantic Terminal Summer Salsa Nights | Downtown Brooklyn

Take the fer­ry over to our green oasis for a spe­cial guid­ed tour to dis­cov­er and con­nect with the wildlife that calls this place home. Led by the Gov­er­nors Island Nature pro­gram along with CCNY Insect Ecol­o­gy Pro­fes­sor Amy Berkov, these month­ly tours will take par­tic­i­pants on a jour­ney through the young urban for­est of Ham­mock Grove and the immer­sive spaces at Out­look Hill and Dis­cov­ery Hill. You’ll get to learn about these resilient, built land­scapes direct­ly from the peo­ple who know them best, and get the chance to par­tic­i­pate in dif­fer­ent com­mu­ni­ty sci­ence projects.

Sing, read, and play with librarians from Brooklyn Public Library! Have fun hearing great picture books read aloud and playing with other children during this program featuring guest musical artists from Urban Stages. For children of all ages and their caregivers. Storytime in the Park will be located at the bottom of the monument stairs in Fort Greene Park’s northwest corner. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at Walt Whitman Library, 93 St. Edwards St., Brooklyn, NY 11205.

Live at the Archway: Paisley Fields & Billie Elise | DUMBO

Live at the Archway is an annual series of free concerts and visual art in the unique setting of the Dumbo Archway. Paisley Fields was an official performer at SXSW last year and was named one of the best musical discoveries of the festival by the Austin Chronicle and Jambase. His most recently released duet with Mya Byrne was featured on Democracy Now, in Rolling Stone, NPR and more. Out Magazine also named him one of the 20 queer country artists you should know in 2022. Partners Billie and Elise, who recently opened a design studio and gallery in The Shops, will showcase their artists-in-residence on the Art Wall.

Silent Disco Party | Commodore Barry Park

Grab a set of wireless headphones and dance to your own beat! This is a fun party for all ages where you can individually tune in to the channel of your choice, while dancing with others. Sound Off Experience DJs will curate some amazing music, making you want to bust out all your favorite moves. This event is free and open to all ages. The Public Theater: The Comedy of Errors | Prospect Park

Created by director Rebecca Martínez and composer Julián Mesri, The Comedy of Errors adaptation embraces contemporary music styles from Latin America in a tale of separation and reunion. Featuring live actor-musicians, this modern musical adaptation brings a vibrant energy to an age-old tale of two sets of twins separated by stormy seas as they overcome a baffling case of mistaken identity—and the mayhem and hilarious confusion that follows.

THE TEMPEST has a relevant message, yes, but it is highly entertaining! And as adapted by Fuller, the fast-paced show will be enjoyed by young and old alike.
