The seasonal weekend Brooklyn ferry from Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6 and Red Hook will return staring Saturday, May 7 and run until Sunday, September 25. This ferry is always free for children 12 and under and seniors and costs $4 round trip for adults. Free for everybody before noon on weekends. Service from Pier 6 runs 10.15 am, 11.15 am, 12.15 pm each hour until 5.15 pm. Return service is always on the hour (11 amt – 7 pm). Purchase tickets here.
In addition, NYC Ferry continues to serve the island on the South Brooklyn Route with stops at Pier 1 in DUMBO, Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park and Red Hook all year around. Each way $2.75 for everybody approx. 6 years and up (by height). Schedule and more information here.

Swamp in the City Festival | Governors Island | 5/14
Swamp in the City is NYC’s only Cajun & Creole music festival that celebrates the vibrant musical, cultural and culinary traditions unique to Southwest Louisiana. This FREE daytime event will take place on Governor’s Island (Colonels Row) on Saturday, May 14 from 11a-5p and will feature two stages of live music featuring world-class Louisiana dancehall bands, intimate duos/trios between sets, a Swamp in the City bar, a food truck parked near the main stage, and plenty of open space to dance, have a picnic and soak up the scene.
