Halloween Guide 2022

Our annual Halloween Guide for families in Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Greene, Park Slope and BoCoCa features free and spooky events in Brooklyn. The Halloween Guide 2022 is sponsored by BASIS Independent Brooklyn, a PreK-12 private school that provides a global approach to education founded on learning at the highest international levels. Students are placed at the center of a passionate, diverse learning community committed to advanced academy inquiry, individual exploration, and extensive student support. Here, they grow as both learners and humans as they rise to reach their full potential and learn to impact the local and global communities around them.

Fall Fest & “Touch-a-spooky-Truck” | Downtown Brooklyn | Saturday 10/15

Atlantic Terminal Mall and Brooklyn Bridge Parents are hosting a FREE family-friendly fall festival on Atlantic Terminal’s outdoor plaza and car-free Fort Greene Place on Saturday, October 15th from 12 to 3 PM (rain date: Sunday, October 16th from 12 to 3 PM). Brooklyn’s first ever spooky Touch-the-Truck line-up powered by DUMBO Moving – kids will be able to go inside the Halloween-decorated trucks, build a skeleton train and take photos in front of the very spooky vehicles. The outdoor plaza will feature arts & crafts, pumpkin painting (take home your own little decorated pumpkin), block building, music & more! Kids are encouraged to come in costumes. Free RSVP here.

Fall Block Party | Williamsburg | Saturdays 10/15 & 10/22

Bring the whole family to Vale Park to pick your own pumpkins and get into the fall spirit. The William Vale transforms Vale Park into a family-friendly pumpkin patch for two October Saturdays 10/15 and 10/22 from 1 to 4 pm. Pluck your perfect pumpkin from the patch, then hit the craft tables to transform it into a table-worthy decoration. Scarecrow-making and seasonal drinks for sipping add to the fun. Monster Mash | Cobble Hill | 10/16

Families First will be hosting a “Monster Mash” at Families First on Sunday 10/16 from 10 am to 12 pm. There will be games, arts & crafts, music, a bouncy house, tattoos and more at this event. $20/family. RSVP here.

Harvest Festival | Brooklyn Bridge Park | Saturday 10/22

Join the community this fall as we celebrate the changing of the seasons at the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s annual Harvest Festival! Don’t miss the kick-off procession, arts and crafts, storytelling, lawn games and more—including the signature pumpkin patch. The free event will take place at Pier 6 on Saturday, October 22 from 11 am to 4 pm.

The Haunted Block Party | Red Hook | 10/22

Come out to celebrate Halloween at the Haunted Block Party on Pioneer Street between Van Brunt and Richards on Saturday, 10/22/22 from 1 to 6 pm with costume making, candy, pumpkin decorating, dog costume contest, photo booth and more.

Pumpkin Point | Governors Island | 10/22, 10/23, 10/29 & 10/30

The Trust for Governors Island and the Friends of Governors Island announced the return of Pumpkin Point, a free annual pumpkin patch and fall festival on Governors Island. Located in historic Nolan Park, Pumpkin Point will bring over 1,000 pumpkins of all shapes and sizes to the Island’s historic district, transforming the idyllic setting along with its naturally stunning fall foliage into a delightfully autumnal escape with free programs and activities for visitors of all ages. Visitors are invited to pick out their own pumpkins (free with suggested donation) on the weekends of October 22-23 and October 29-30, 2022, from 10am to 5pm. Bay Ridge Halloween Festival | Bay Ridge 5th Ave | Friday 10/28

Brooklyn Bridge Parents is partnering up with the 5th Avenue BID in Bay Ridge to host a big fall festival on 7 blocks on car-free 5th Avenue from 75th to 82nd Street. Come enjoy the many restaurants from all over the world, the uniquely decorated houses in the side streets and a block party with bouncy house, arts & crafts, pumpkin decorating, “Trunk-or-Treat”, castle building and much more. Halloween Parade | Brooklyn Heights | Saturday 10/29

The Brooklyn Heights Association will be hosting its annual Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 29th at 10:30am. Families will gather at the entrance to the Promenade on Clark Street and parade down to the cul-de-sac on Remsen Street.  Treats will be provided! Rain date is Sunday, October 30 same time.

Great PUPkin Dog Costume Contest | Fort Greene Park | Saturday 10/29

The annual Great PUPkin Dog Costume Contest will take place on Saturday, October 29 from 12 to 2.30 pm in Fort Greene Park. The contest will take place at the bottom of the monument stairs in Fort Greene Park. To register your dog, click here. Rain date is Sunday, October 30.

Léman Manhattan Halloween Bash & Open House | Downtown Manhattan | Saturday 10/29

The Eighth Annual Léman Manhattan Halloween Bash & Open House will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Stop by 41 Broad Street for a spook-tacular morning of activities including pumpkin decorating, arts and crafts, trick-or-treating, adorable photo ops, and much more! The morning will also allow for guests to explore Léman’s Lower School campus (for students aged 12 months – Grade 5) during guided tours. Haunted Carousel | Prospect Park | Saturday 10/29

Celebrate Halloween in Prospect Park at the beloved Carousel. Don’t be scared when you see the haunted horses! Don your best costume and take a spin on this spooky ride to your favorite Halloween jams. Saturday, October 29th from 12 to 5 pm.

Mommy Poppins Halloween Kid Party | Manhattan | Saturday 10/29

Mommy Poppins is partnering with The Hugh for a funtastic Halloween Party! Come in costume for pumpkin decorating, face painting, Halloween costume photos, games and more. The Hugh, located conveniently at the corner of 53rd and Lex., is Midtown East’s newest food hall with 15 restaurants in an open and airy indoor garden. Parade & Trick-or-Treat | Industry City | Saturday 10/29

Like every Saturday the tunes will be rockin’, however this week Rock and Roll Playhouse will be hosting an extra special Fright City Halloween party. The theme is Monster Mash and the rules are to have fun! Ticket holders can pick up a trick-or-treat IC basket from the show and follow the trail through the campus to find all the treats. The annual Carroll Park Halloween Party will take place on Sunday 10/30 from 11.30 am to 1 pm with crafts, games , scavenger hunt and food.

Court Street Spectacular | Brooklyn Heights | Sunday 10/30

Court Street Spectacular Street Fair between Atlantic Avenue and Joralemon Street will take place on Sunday, 10/30 from 11 am to 6 pm. Enjoy Brooklyn’s last big street festival of the year!  There will be amusement rides by Joralemon street to Livingston street.

Creepy crawly Halloween | Prospect Park | Sunday 10/30

Join Prospect Park Alliance at the Audubon Center for a special Halloween celebration. Take a second look at the creatures that give you the creeps, you may find you like them! BAMboo! | Downtown Brooklyn | Monday 10/31

BAM’s festive Halloween block party returns outdoors. The action-packed afternoon of revelry features music, carnival games, arts and crafts, a candy giveaway, and trick-or-treat popcorn. Families will delight in wild, wacky, and adorable costumes and have the opportunity to win prizes with an entry in the annual costume contest. This year Brooklyn’s beloved block party adds classic family-friendly Halloween short films to the evening of fun. The event is free, and all are welcome. Monday, October 31st at 4 pm in front of BAM at 30 Lafayette Ave.

Cobble Hill Halloween Parade | Cobble Hill | Monday 10/31

The annual Cobble Hill Halloween Parade takes place on Halloween (Monday, October 31st) at 4pm. Organized by the Cobble Hill Association, the parade starts in Cobble Hill Park. Led by a big-brass band (the Brass Queens!), a procession of costumed families will march down Congress to Henry, around to Warren Street and back to the park. Afterwards, kids can stop at stoops for treats in one of the most active Halloween communities in Brooklyn.

Garden Place Trick-or-Treating | Brooklyn Heights | Monday 10/31

Kids start trick-or-treating around 4 pm on Monday, October 31st on Garden Place in Brooklyn Heights. The gathering runs all afternoon until dusk when everybody runs out of candy.

Annual March to the Arch and Trick-or-Treating in DUMBO hosted by the DUMBO BID on Monday, 10/31 followed by crafts, live music and candy in the Archway! Find out more here.

Myrtle Avenue Monster Mash Dance Party | 10/31

The Halloween Monster Mash Dance Party returns to the Myrtle Avenue Plaza this Halloween (October 31). There’ll be costumes, music & dancing, giveaways, a selfie station from 4 to 6 pm. Plus a special raffle, halloween hunt and storefront trick or treating all along Myrtle! Catch the Thriller Dance at 4:45pm and enjoy all the other fun from 4-6pm. All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Park Slope Halloween Parade | Park Slope | Monday 10/31

  • 3pm-6pm – Kids Trick or Treating
  • 5:30pm – Queue up for parade at 14th St
  • 6:30pm – Civic Council kicks off parade, followed by elected officials
  • 7:30pm – Parade ends at Old Stone House/Washington Park

Parade Route is 7th Ave, Starting at 14th St to 3rd St, turning on 3rd street, ending at Old Stone House.

Carnaval Halloween Parade and Party | Bed Stuy | Monday 10/31

Monday, October 31 from 4 to 7pm, flaunt your fabulous halloween costumes during our parade at Restoration Plaza, dance to live samba music, and join Angel Kaba as she leads an Afro’Dance Family & Kids workshop including Congolese, Afrobeats, and Caribbean music during the after party.
