The Brooklyn STEAM Center located on the 3rd floor of Building 77 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard will serve as the hub for high-quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs for high school students in Brooklyn from eight public high schools.
The center, which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math (STEAM), received a $5 million investment from Borough President Adams. The center’s instruction will be focused on five career pathways:
- Culinary Arts and Business
- Design and Engineering
- Construction Technology
- Computer Science and I.T.
- Film and Media
The Brooklyn STEAM Center, scheduled to open next year, will serve 350-400 students each year working with a half-day model to split their education between traditional classroom academics and the STEAM Center’s Career Technical Education (CTE). Students will have access to computer labs, construction spaces, a TV broadcasting soundstage, a culinary education kitchen and more.
