New amenities for families have recently opened or are coming soon to our neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Our overview covers new daycares and preschool programs, a new interactive play space in Industry City, virtual indoor golf in Downtown Brooklyn, Le Meraviglie art center’s second location near Brooklyn Bridge Park, a new School of Rock location in Bay Ridge, and a new art studio in Downtown Brooklyn.
CREA Interactivity at Industry City | Sunset Park | NOW OPEN
Opened in May, CREA is Industry City’s first tech driven indoor playground where players navigate through interactive zones, conquering challenges and fostering creativity through movement. The Crea Adventure is a 60 minute experience, geared toward 5-12 year olds that combines technology with traditional play/games. Each step reveals new and captivating challenges as players run, jump, climb, crawl and dodge through our seven zones. The experience begins with a warm-up, revealing the day’s mission, and ends in the ChillZone where players decompress, relax and report back on the success of their mission. Drop-ins are $35/class. School of Rock | Bay Ridge | NOW OPEN
School of Rock Bay Ridge is proud to now serve the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn—as well as surrounding areas like Sunset Park, Dyker Heights, Fort Hamilton, and Borough Park—with a revolutionary music education approach. Golfzon Social | Downtown Brooklyn | NOW OPEN
This new 18,000-square-foot venue opened in May at 11 Hoyt Street and is home to 16 state-of-the-art golf simulators. Golfzon Social provides a unique opportunity for customers to play 240 simulated courses meticulously mapped by Golfzon from around the world, including Bay Hill, St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, Kiawah Island, Harbour Town, PGA National and more! Kids and families can also enjoy other interactive games on the simulators; kids of all ages are welcome with parental supervision. The venue is ideal for hosting kid’s birthday parties and private gatherings for all ages; capacity is 280. Golfzon Social is also launching instructional golf clinics in partnership with the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development that will include a golf clinic pilot for students and their families that are part of the Ingersoll House Community Center. This new Cornerstone program will teach the game of golf to participants across a range of experiences, and position Golfzon Social to be an accessible, relaxed space for New Yorkers of all ages. Golfzon Social starts at $79 per bay on weekdays, with a maximum occupancy per bay of 6 people.
Brooklyn Renaissance Art Studio | Downtown Brooklyn | NOW OPEN
Brooklyn Renaissance opened in April with the mission of supporting and uplifting the local art community. The studio space not only provides a welcoming creative third space to create, but a beaming gallery with works of local artists to foster creativity within the space. This summer, Brooklyn Renaissance will be offering Summer Craft Camp for ages 8-14, with painting, macrame, polymer clay, multimedia collage, embroider journals, friendship bracelets, fairy house, crochet, felting, and more! Le Meraviglie Art’s New Location | Brooklyn Heights | Opening Summer 2024
Le Meraviglie Art, a visual arts and culinary arts studio for young children, is expanding this summer. Their second location is coming to 67 Atlantic Avenue, not far from Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 6. The new venue will be inaugurated with Summer Camp programming! The new studio will offer a more spacious area for campers and closer proximity to outdoor art activities in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Congregation Beth Elohim’s New Preschool Location | Prospect Heights | Opening September 2024
The Early Childhood Center at Congregation Beth Elohim, now in its 47th year in Park Slope, is thrilled to be opening a second location, in Prospect Heights—a brand new, state-of-the-art space steps from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Museum, and Prospect Park. Congregation Beth Elohim offers an inclusive and comprehensive preschool program emphasizing the social, emotional, and physical development of kids ages 2-5. Parker’s Place Preschool | Boerum Hill | Opening September 2024
Parker’s Place opened its doors in 2008 in Park Slope. After 15 wonderful years in the original location, Parker’s Place is moving to Boerum Hill! Their brand-new location features 5 classrooms, an indoor playground/sensory gym, a rooftop play space, and quick, easy access to a local playground.
