New amenities for families have recently opened or are coming soon to our neighborhoods in Brooklyn! Our roundup features a new indoor playground and arcade in Sunset Park, the grand openings of Treasure Trunk Theatre in Prospect Heights and Tutu School in DUMBO, a new escape room in Park Slope, and a new daycare and urgent care, both in Downtown Brooklyn. Max Funland | Sunset Park | NOW OPEN
Max Funland is a new indoor playground with trampolines and an arcade in Sunset Park. Older kids will love the arcade, and kids 3 and up can enjoy the ball pits and trampolines. Located at 3901 8th Avenue in Sunset Park, they are Monday through Friday 11:30am-9:30pm and weekends from 10:30am to 10pm. Admissions starts at $24.99/1.5 hours on weekdays, and $27.99/1.5 hours on weekends. There is dedicated parking for $6. The arcade features more than 100 games, plus claw machines and VR devices. Little Scholars Childcare Center | New location in Downtown Brooklyn | NOW OPEN
Little Scholars Childcare Center opened a new location on January 1 at 345 Adams Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The center accepts infants as young as 3 months up to children 5 years old. The curriculum supports physical, emotional, linguistic, and cognitive development for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Hours are 8am-6pm. Little Scholars offers open enrollment, and prospective families will tour the facility and participate in a family interview. Amazon One Medical | Downtown Brooklyn | NOW OPEN
Amazon One Medical is now open at City Point Brooklyn! Located at 445 Gold Street, the new primary and urgent care offers same and next-day appointments, 24/7 video chat calls with providers, messaging with doctors, and many more membership benefits. One Medical offers preventative care, physical exams, women’s health, and mental health services. They are open Monday through Friday, 8am-9pm, and weekends from 8am-7pm. Learn more here!
The Bird Escape Room | Park Slope | NOW OPEN
MyssTic Rooms in Park Slope has opened The Bird, a new immersive theatrical escape room. The experience is open to everyone, but kids and teens under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. In The Bird, players come together to revive a family’s mythical bird in order to restore magic to the apothecary in which it’s set. In addition to The Bird, MyssTic has two more rooms located at 794 Union Street: Montauk Project, Ghost Light. The experience start at $62.50/person for 60 minutes, and can accommodate 2-8 players. Tutu School | New location in DUMBO | NOW OPEN
Tutu School’s new 1,100 square foot location is opening in DUMBO, with classes starting on Saturday, January 25. The studio will include a dance space, open concept lobby, retail area, bathroom, and office. Tutu School is a boutique ballet studio for children ages 6 months to 8 years old. They provide a magical introduction to ballet, music and creative movement. Tutu School will offer weekly ballet classes, ballet birthday parties and seasonal camps. Free trial classes are available! Treasure Trunk Theatre | New location in Prospect Heights | NOW OPEN
Treasure Trunk Theater, a creative arts studio for children, is opening a new location at 700 Washington Avenue in Prospect Heights. Classes will begin the first week of February; register here! Join for the studio’s free Grand Opening Party on Saturday, January 25, from 10am-1pm, with arts and crafts, a Sing-Along Adventure activity at 10:30am and Storytime at 11:30am, dance parties and games, snacks and drinks, and a tour of the space and its backyard. The event will also feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. This location is the third permanent home of the theatrical arts program for ages 0-8, with studios at 141 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn Heights and 179 4th Avenue in Park Slope. Classes, camps, and birthday celebrations encourage students to explore drama through imagination, and incorporate movement, music, theatre games, and visual art. L10 Arts and Cultural Center | Downtown Brooklyn | NOW OPEN
A new 65,000 square foot arts and cultural center has opened in Downtown Brooklyn, and will serve as a hub for the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), a brand new branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, the Museum of Contemporary African Diaspora Arts (MoCADA), and 651 Arts. The L10 Arts and Cultural Center is located at 10 Lafayette Avenue and was developed with $84 million in city funding. The center will be home to the newest branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, and the first one to be entirely focused on the arts. It is open Monday through Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday 10am-3pm, closed on Sundays. L10 will also be home to BAM’s archives, two new 108-seat cinemas (opening Spring 2025) and a 25-seat screening room. MoCADA’s Culture Lab II is slated to open in February 2025 and will feature a new gallery, performance spaces, and a cafe. Finally, the arts organization 651 ARTS will have its first permanent home in the L10 center, with rehearsal studios, a gallery, and a blackbox theater space. Learn more about the new center here!
Woven Performance and Longevity | Boerum Hill | Opening January 2025
Located at 333 Atlantic Avenue, this gym is opening soon! Woven creates custom fitness programs for every member. Members can train one-on-one with a coach or in a semi-private format, where small groups of 4-6 complete custom programs. They also offer nutrition coaching and will have a cafe and community space which will serve coffee and snacks. Monthly memberships include unlimited access to the community space, and members make appointments to use the gym space. There are many options for training: Semi-private personal training (8x month for $440, 12x month for $660, unlimited $880/month), one-on-one training (8x month for $1,320, 12x month for $2,040), and nutrition coaching (1x month for $85, 2x month for $170, 4x month for $340). New Pier 5 Playground | Brooklyn Bridge Park | Opening March 2025
A new playground for ages 2 to 12 is coming to Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 5, and is slated to open in Spring 2025. The play area will include a canopy for shade and sun protection, and there will be all-new play equipment. Stay tuned on Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Instagram for updates.
Club Pilates | New location in Downtown Brooklyn | Spring 2025
A new Club Pilates is coming to 562 State Street in Downtown Brooklyn in late spring 2025! Club Pilates specializes in reformer-based group Pilates classes designed for all levels and fitness backgrounds. Accessibility Upgrades at Borough Hall Station | Downtown Brooklyn | Completion date TBA
ADA upgrades are coming soon to the Borough Hall Station in Downtown Brooklyn! Construction is currently in progress on three new elevators (one from the street to the 4/5 train mezzanine and two between the mezzanine and northbound/southbound 4/5 train platforms). The project also includes improved boarding area, new platform edges, and more.

Launch Trampoline Park | New location in Bay Ridge | Opening date TBA
The chain Launch Entertainment is opening a new center in Brooklyn, which will include a trampoline park, rock climbing, ninja warrior courses, and an arcade. The facility will be located at 531 86th Street in Bay Ridge. The center will also have a restaurant, and will host birthday parties for kids.
