New ice cream shop opening in the Fireboat House in Brooklyn Bridge Park

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream will be opening an ice cream shop in the iconic Fireboat House building in Brooklyn Bridge Park on May 2nd. They are taking over the space from Ample Hills Creamery that closed due to financial trouble. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream was started in a yellow truck on the streets of NYC in 2008 and has expanded rapidly ever since. They are known for their regular ice cream flavors including chocolate caramel cheesecake, cookies & cream, peanut butter brownie honeycomb and various vegan flavors including choc chip cookie dough and vegan cookie crumble strawberry jam.

Plus, Oddfellows Ice Cream at Pier 5 is also open for the season seven days a week from 12 pm to 10 pm.
