New indoor pickleball club now open in Gowanus

A new 18,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility has opened in Gowanus, with five courts, lounge areas, a bar, and food service. Located on 4th Street between Hoyt and Bond Streets, PKLYN welcomes players of all levels to book their own court, drop-in for open play, join a competitive league, or sign up for classes or private lessons. Children of all ages are welcome for open play, as long as those under 14 are accompanied by an adult. Additionally, there is a Junior’s League that is exclusively for kids ages 10-17.

Drop-in play starts at $30 for 2 hours, leagues start at $360 for six weeks, classes start at $60 for 90 minutes, and courts can be reserved for $110/hour for non-members and $99/hour for members. Paddles can be rented or purchased, and balls are available for all to use.

In addition to five full-sized courts, PKLYN has a dink court, ping pong table, mezzanine overlooking the playing area, social pit, as well as private event room with garage doors opening to a space for local food trucks. The club books for private events such as birthday parties, corporate gatherings, and more. PKLYN has partnered with local purveyors and serves sandwiches from Alidoro, beer from Threes Brewing, and cocktails from Social Hour.

Memberships are not required to play, but members receive special perks, such as early registration for play, members-only play, discounts off classes, lessons, court time, food, and beverages, plus access for members-only showers and bathrooms and invitations to special events such as members happy hours. Membership is $100/month, plus a $50 registration fee.

PKLYN is located right off the F/G stop at Carroll Street and is open Monday-Saturday, 7am-10pm and Sunday 8am-8pm. Make your court reservation here up to 14 days in advance!
