New Japanese restaurants in our neighborhoods

New Japanese restaurants are open in Brooklyn Heights, Gowanus and DUMBO.

Park Slope’s beloved sushi bar Sushi Lin “utilizing specialized seafood sourced from Tsukiji Market, Japan & around the world to bring forth an Omakase experience that focuses on freshness, flavor & texture” has recently expanded to Brooklyn Heights. Their menu at 78 Clark Street features a la carte sushi and sashimi, sushi entrees, vegetable rolls and more. They take reservations, find out more here.

Cotra is a new Japanese Izakaya (tapas) bar in Gowanus featuring scallop carpaccio, seared shishito, addictive cabbage, sake casu Caesar, pork chops and sushi rolls. They are open for dinner from 5 to 10 pm Wednesdays to Sundays at 451 Carroll Street. They take reservations, find out more here.

Rise & Miso is back open in DUMBO! The take-out lunch spot at 139 Plymouth Street is open Tuesday to Friday 11.50 am to 2.30 pm offering “Onigiri”, a rice ball made with organic brown rice. Their “Bento Box” comes with a choice of protein, two different kinds of “Osozai” (sides) and two rice balls of your choice. They incorporate an array of traditional Japanese fermentation techniques into their cooking, bringing out more flavor from the ingredients.
