New restaurants, bars, bakeries, and cafés opening in our neighborhoods in November ’24

Our overview of new restaurants, bars, bakeries and cafés that opened in November includes a new Palestinian spot in DUMBO’s Time Out Market, a Shanghai-style dim sum restaurant in Park Slope, Williamsburg’s newest fine dining restaurant, and a new Argentinian eatery in Gowanus. Also, check out our roundup of the Brooklyn restaurants that were recognized in the Michelin Guide this month. Keep an eye out for even more openings this winter, including long-awaited arrival of L&B Spumoni pizzeria in DUMBO.

In addition to these exciting openings, many local restaurants and bars have sadly announced their closings, including Floyd Bar in Brooklyn Heights (December 22), Ugly Baby in Carroll Gardens (December 22), and Buttermilk Channel, also in Carroll Gardens (December 31).

Tanoreen | DUMBO

An outpost of this beloved Palestinian restaurant in Bay Ridge has arrived at Time Out Market in DUMBO. Run by mother-and-daughter owners, Tanoreen’s menu is inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors. Located on the 5th floor rooftop, the Time Out Market location will serve a mixed mezzo plate, falafel, lamb kafta kabobs, cheese-laden knafeh and more Middle Eastern dishes.

Prestige Market | Brooklyn Heights

A new bodega has opened at 60 Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights. Prestige Market offer burgers & sandwiches, panini & wraps, chopped salads, juices & smoothies, halal food, and breakfast fare.

Ramen Thukpa | Boerum Hill

Ramen Thukpa is now open at 535 Atlantic Avenue. The new restaurant serves homemade dumplings, and ramen dishes including Curry Ramen, Miso Ramen, Dan Dan Ramen, and Tonkotsu Ramen. Open Monday to Friday 11:30am to 10pm, and Saturday to Sunday 12pm to 10:30pm.

Chick-fil-A | Clinton Hill

The fast food chain opened its second Brooklyn location in Clinton Hill on November 14. Working to streamline operations for delivery, Chick-fil-A partnered with the DOT to create a bike corral on Clinton Avenue for delivery workers. Located at 809 Atlantic Avenue, the new location serves the chain’s famous chicken sandwich and waffle fries.

Dinner Party | Clinton Hill

Dinner Party was founded in 2021, offering a tasting menu and communal dining at shared tables in Clinton Hill, with a rotating schedule of guest chefs. The operation moved this month to Fort Greene, where you can reserve for prix fixe on Resy or walk in for a la carte or a drink at the bar. The tasting menu is $60 on Tuesdays and $75 all other days (closed Mondays).

Little Red Kitchen Bake Shop | Park Slope 

This new bakery has an open kitchen when customers can watch bakers at work! They serve soft pretzels, black and white cookies, challah bread, babka, cinnamon roles, banana bread, scones, and plenty of gluten-free and vegan options. They also use Kosher ingredients and practices. Little Red Kitchen Bakeshop won the 2024 sofi™ award for their Molasses Spice cookies, which they are serving this fall!

Paris Baguette | Park Slope

Paris Baguette has opened new location in Park Slope, in the space formerly occupied by Foot Locker. Come for delicious pastries and fresh-baked bread. For young families, they have high chairs and a changing station in their restroom!

Fleur | Park Slope

Fleur, serving Shanghai cuisine in Park Slope, has already received a warm welcome from the neighborhood. Located at  392 5th Ave between 6th and 7th Street, Fleur serves homemade Shanghai-style Dim Sum in an elegant space. They are also open for dinner, serving cocktails and cocktails alongside entrees. Open Friday & Saturday 11:30am to 10:30pm, and Sunday through Thursday from 11:30am to 10pm. Come with the family, or come for a cozy drink at the bar!

No Filter Coffee | South Slope

Calling itself “the first gothic cafe in NYC,” No Filter Coffee is open daily from 7am-3pm at 175 Prospect Ave in South Slope. They serve coffee from Louisiana roaster Rêve Coffee, as well as a selection of pastries. During the holidays, they will serve “The Tell-Tale Heart,” a peppermint mocha with crushed candy canes on top.

Estancia Piola | Gowanus

This sister restaurant to Estancia 460 in Tribeca opened at 288 Third Avenue in November and serves Argentinian cuisine like empanadas, parrillada for two, plus an extensive list of Milanese dishes. They are open Wednesday through Sunday at 5pm.

Gun Hill Public House | Industry City

The Industry City brewery has moved to a new location on Industry City’s campus. You can now visit them at Courtyard 5/6!

Field Guide | Williamsburg

A new fine dining restaurant in Williamsburg, Field Guide serves new American dishes inspired by the flavors of Central New York. The chef is Tim Meyers of Eleven Madison Park, Blanca, and Roberta’s, and the menu and decor is inspired by his love of the great outdoors. Field Guide is farm-to-table, and dishes include a pork and pistachio terrine wrapped in fig leaves, eggplant tortellini, and a beef filet with sunflower crumble and chanterelle mushrooms. The candlelit restaurant has 60 seats and is open Wednesday through Sunday from 5pm to 10pm.

SSAW | Williamsburg

This new 12-seat Japanese restaurant offers a seasonal tasting menu at $160/person in South Williamsburg. They also have wine and sake menus.

Tokidoki | Williamsburg

The Williamsburg restaurant Shalom Japan has opened up a neighborhood cafe and event space next door, which will serve sandwiches, onigiri, and a daily bento during the day. Try the wagyu pastrami sandwich! They also serve coffee and tea.

Ox Wine Bar | Williamsburg

This cozy 20-seat wine bar in Williamsburg celebrated its grand opening this month. They will serve New American, French, and Caribbean cuisine along their wines, and will be open Wednesday through Sunday, from 4pm to 11pm. The chef was previously stationed at DUMBO’s Gran Electrica.

Super Chori NY | East Williamsburg

This Argentinian spot was formerly a pop-up serving sandwiches including their signature choripan, with chorizo, sauce, and rustic bread. They are now sharing a permanent space with Here Café BK on Bushwick Avenue. Super Choi are open Thursday through Saturday 3pm to midnight and Sunday until 8pm. Takeout and delivery available.

the Snail | Greenpoint

This American bistro opened nearby McCarren Park this month. Located at 544 Manhattan Avenue, they accept walk-ins only and are open Thursday through Sunday from 5pm to 10pm. The menu includes oysters, Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, steak frites, and a delicious burger.

Padmore’s | Bed Stuy

This new coffee shop has opened up on Bedford Avenue in Bed Stuy. In addition to coffee and espresso drinks, they also serve an assortment of pastries and cookies.

Laziza | Bed Stuy

This new evening spot in Bed Stuy serves cocktails and mezze inspired by Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, and the Middle East. Laziza offers “falafel, funk, and good times,” spinning vinyl records to accompany the food and drinks.

Ayat | Bushwick

This Palestinian restaurant opened its newest location on Knickerbocker Avenue in Bushwick this month.

53 AD | Bushwick

This new distillery was opened by Empirical Spirits, the liquor company founded by two alumni from Noma in Copenhagen. By day, the space is open as a bar and tasting room. In the evening, 53 AD transforms into a cocktail bar, with a menu featuring house spirits.

November additions to New York’s Michelin Guide

Theodora | Fort Greene

Theodora specializes in open-fire cooking, with Mediterranean dishes like wood-fired pita, monkfish liver ‘nduja hummus, and plenty of seafood cooked over the flames. Theodora’s sister restaurant is the popular Mediterranean/Israeli restaurant Miss Ada in Fort Greene and its sister concept Nili in Carroll Gardens.Read more here! This summer, the restaurant’s new bakery called Thea opened on the same street, serving Harissa Caramelized Onion Babka, Cinnamon Coffee Conchas, Amba & Olive Sourdough, and Seeded Challah.

Sawa | Park Slope

This Lebanese restaurant in Park Slope features dips, mezze, and main dishes such as whole fish, lamb shanks, and lamb chops, plus cocktails with Lebanese flavors. In addition to their dining room, they have a beautiful backyard space that is open in the warmer months.

Okonomi Kappo Counter @ Okonomi Market| Williamsburg

This 6-seat omakase restaurant is located in the back room of Okonomi Market on Graham Avenue, which offers takeaway bento boxes and rice bowls. Wednesday through Saturday evenings, the market closes early and Chef Daniel Lee serves his tasting menu at the Okonomi Kappo Counter. There are no servers, just the chef! Guests are invited to BYOB, and there is no corkage fee.

Uzuki | Greenpoint

Uzuki brings gluten-free Soba and sushi to Greenpoint, housed in a large warehouse space on Guernsey Street. The chef also offers a wide array of classes and events, including pottery-making, flower-arranging, live calligraphy, and jazz performances.

Lingo | Greenpoint

This new Greenpoint restaurant serves Japan see American cuisine, with fusion dishes including smoked tamale sando, albacore tuna crudo, and beef and bone marrow pie, pictured below. They also serve a wide array of seasonal cocktails made with Japanese spirits, as well as mocktails.

Daphne’s | Bed Stuy

Daphne’s is a cozy, Italian-inspired restaurant that recently opened in Bed Stuy. It comes from the team behind Decades Pizza. The small menu changes seasonally, and features swordfish, pastas, and beef tartare. Daphne’s serves a curated selection of natural wines and signature cocktails. New addition to New York’s Michelin Guide.

New Thai Restaurant Coming to Montague Street | Brooklyn Heights | Coming Winter 2024

A Northeast Thai Isan bar and grill has announced their arrival on Montague Street, across from Montague Diner. Stay tuned for more information about their opening!

L&B Spumoni | DUMBO | Coming Winter 2024

The DUMBO location of this pizzeria has been in the works for years. The restaurant’s grand opening at 46 Old Fulton Street is said to be coming soon!

Blank Street Coffee | Downtown Brooklyn | Opening date TBA

The Brooklyn-based chain will be opening up a new location at 1 Boerum Place, on the corner of Boerum Place and Red Hook Lane. Blank Street serves coffee, matcha, and breakfast all day.
