New shops and businesses in our neighborhoods

While we have lost many businesses during the pandemic, new stores including a vet hospital, maternity center, various COVID test centers, clothing stores and more have already opened up or will open soon in Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO and BoCoCa.

Schott clothing in DUMBO: Schott jackets has open up a pop-up store in the former Shinola space in the Empire stores. The store is open Wednesday to Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm and Sundays from 12 to 6 pm. FInd out more here.

Heal vet hospital in DUMBO: Heal Veterinary Hospital has taken over the Brooklyn Roasting Company space on Jay Street. The new center for pets offering services from urgent care to acupuncture is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8 pm and Saturday 8 am to 4 pm. Exam fees are $95 and up and urgent care appointments range from $115 to $135. Walk-ins are welcome, call 929-359-9297 for appointments.

Carecube physicians in Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill: carecube Covid test centers are now open on Montague Street and Court Street offering PCR, Antigen and Antibody tests. Their primary care physicians also offer a wide variety of comprehensive health services to provide extensive patient care including immunizations and annual screenings, treat common illnesses, like colds and allergies, and manage chronic conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes.

The Real Real in Cobble Hill: Luxury designer resale store Real Real has opened a location at 163 Court Street in Cobble Hill with opening hours Monday to Saturday 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday 12 to 6 pm. The consignment store features clothes brands like Gucci and Chanel, accessories and jewelry.

Met-Rite Urgent Care in Cobble Hill: Met-Rite urgent care is now open at 115 Court Street from 8 am to 7 pm seven days a week.  To register for COVID testing, register here. They also offer comprehensive urgent care services with on-site lab and x-ray machines.

Oula Maternity Center in Brooklyn Heights: Oula Maternity Center has opened up on Montague Street providing full-service pregnancy care from prenatal to delivery with midwives and obstetricians on staff. Find out more here.

Bitesize Pediatric Dentistry in DUMBO: Bitesize Pediatric Dentistry will open a location at 67 Front Street on 2/22 offering comprehensive exams, dental cleanings, protective dental sealants and more for children. They already have dentists in Park Slope and Williamsburg. The new center will be open Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm.

Kindercare daycare in Cobble Hill: A new children learning center is opening in the former space of Chalk Preschool at 112 Atlantic Avenue. The center will offer care for infants as young as 6 weeks to children 5 years old. It will be open from 6.30 am to 6.30 pm. Find out more here.

Brownstone Dental Dentistry & Orthodontics in Brooklyn Heights: Brownstone Dental is opening a new space on Montague Street where they will offer orthodontics for children and adults, pediatric dentistry, sleep dentistry and more. The practice is scheduled to open in spring 2021.

Boisson in Cobble Hill: Brooklyn’s first sans alcohol bottle shop and apothecary is opening on Court Street. The store will offer alcohol-free beers, wines and botanical spirits Monday to Thursday 11 am to 7 pm and Friday/Saturday 11 am to 9 pm.

Hungry Angelina in DUMBO Heights: Matthew Kenney Cuisine, founded by chef, author and wellness entrepreneur, Matthew Kenney, will open Hungry Angelina restaurant which focuses on plant-based food at 117 Adams Street in DUMBO Heights later this year. The menu will include dishes like grilled veggie sandwich with hummus, macadamia ricotta on sourdough, orange “chicken” with mushroom, broccoli, brown rice toasted sesame and raw matcha cheesecake with strawberries.

Mint Heights in Brooklyn Heights: A new Indian restaurant is opening on Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights.
