Plan a day trip to Governors Island this summer

Summer is here, and Governors Island is open daily! Here’s everything you need to know to plan a fun day trip for the whole family.

Getting to Governors Island by ferry

  • During the summer, direct ferries run Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday from two Brooklyn locations: Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park and Red Hook/Atlantic Basin. Click here for schedules and tickets. Reserve your weekend tickets in advance, before they sell out!
  • NYC Ferry, the City’s public ferry service, also serves Governors Island daily year-round, with stops on the Lower East Side, Wall Street, and along the Brooklyn waterfront. Click here for NYC Ferry information, ticketing, and schedules.
