Brooklyn’s oldest and largest street festival is back! The 51st Atlantic Antic takes over Atlantic Avenue on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 12 to 6pm, rain or shine: ten blocks from Hicks Street to Fourth Avenue lined with food, music, shopping and three dedicated kids’ areas. Admission is free. Here is how to plan the day for your family.

Our own kids’ area, sponsored by Prospect Schools, brings a dozen free activities to Boerum Place: manga art with the Brooklyn Museum, Lego building, arts and crafts, a cardboard maze and more. Come early. Playtopia wraps at 4pm, two hours before the festival ends.
Playtopia is powered by Prospect Schools – nine free public schools on four Brooklyn campuses, Kindergarten through 12th grade. Our families come together from every part of the borough. Our elementary and middle schools are IB-aligned: students ask real questions, work across subjects, and learn to explain how they think. That path continues to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Brooklyn Prospect High School, now located at 181 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn. A child who starts with us has a seat all the way through. Open to all.

Clowns, jugglers and circus acts, sponsored by Alloy, with three shows spread across the afternoon so you can catch one whenever you arrive.

Presented by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, young musicians from around the world perform all afternoon at the corner of Nevins Street. The Met also has a booth at Boerum Place with details on its current exhibits.

Middle Eastern musicians play the Clinton Street Stage, and the Community Stage between Third and Fourth Avenues hosts the “Antic Sing” competition, back for a second year with songs from the 1970s through the 2000s. Getting there
Subway: 2 or 3 to Hoyt Street, or A, C, G to Hoyt–Schermerhorn, then walk south on Hoyt Street to Atlantic Avenue; or 2, 3, D, N, Q, R to Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center and walk west.
Bus: B63 and B61 stop along the route; the B41 and B99 are nearby.
LIRR: Atlantic Terminal, then walk west.
Ferry: South Brooklyn route to Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6 / Atlantic Avenue, a short walk from the Hicks Street end of the festival.
Bike: Eight Citi Bike stations within a short walk.
Car: Lots at 200, 255 and 301 Atlantic Avenue and 333 Schermerhorn Street, plus other lots nearby; street parking rules apply.
