The transformation of LABUBU and THE MONSTERS into global cultural icons is the result of a decade-long creative journey. Kasing Lung began building an inner fantasy world at age 11, influenced by Nordic picture books while learning Dutch. Over time, this imagination evolved into a rich universe. Since 2011, he has collaborated with How2work on designer toys, and in 2015 released picture books like PUCA, PATU and the Girl, and MIRU’s Requiem, which helped shape THE MONSTERS® visual and narrative world. Come check out this special exhibit at 423 W. 14th Street until the end of the month.

For 19 years and counting, the Annual South Slope Derby has thrilled Brooklyn every August, becoming a beloved celebration of creativity and innovation. The Derby is the culmination of KoKo NYC’s summer programming and features gravity-powered soap box vehicles made from recycled materials and built by kids in the KoKo NYC workshops. In the South Slope Derby, the kids put their creations to the test as they drive down 17th Street in South Slope, They are cheered on by over 500 friends, family, and fans who travel from all over the city every year.
