In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States, the Center for Brooklyn History at Brooklyn Public Library is opening a new free exhibition called The Battle of Brooklyn: Fought and Remembered. The show looks at the largest battle of the American Revolution and how it has been remembered in Brooklyn, using maps, artifacts, and historical documents.

BAM’s kids film festival is back for its 28th year, showcasing animated, live-action, and documentary shorts from filmmakers around the world. Film selections are group by ages: ages 3-5, 6-8, and 9+. Viewers can vote for their favorites! Plus, between 11am and 2pm, Parallel Exit will offer juggling, balancing, and more physical-comedy tricks for kids in the lobby.

The Harlem Globetrotters will bring their 100 Year Tour to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center this month, with gravity-defying dunks, comedy, and all-ages basketball fun as they face longtime rivals the Washington Generals.

7. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s: The Greatest Show on Earth at Barclays Center

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey‘s The Greatest Show On Earth returns to Barclays Center February 19 – February 22, 2026. Each two-hour performance is jam-packed with high-flying acrobatics, dance battles, and live music promising to keep the whole family engaged. This all-new production includes several new jaw-dropping acts from around the world such as an acro-salsa troupe (Colombia), a contortionist (United States), acrobatic bikes & hoop diving (China), and much more!

8. Lunar New Year Celebration at City Point

Join Brooklyn Bridge Parents and City Point for the annual Lunar New Year celebration, featuring traditional Lion Dance performances by Chow Lay Fut and their dynamic dancers, Lunar Year inspired kids’ crafts, family-friendly fun, and more. This free family-friendly celebration is fun for all ages. Guests are encouraged to wear red to invite good fortune in the year ahead. There will be crafts in the Main Floor gallery space at City Point (across from Joybird), and Lion Dance performance times will be posted prior to the event.

Think you have what it takes to be a Pokémon Master? Join us on February 27th the 30th birthday of Pokemon with a fan gathering at the Adams Street Library Annex! Whether you’re a competitive battler or a Master Collector, there’s a spot for you. Free and best for ages 8+. Kids and teens can come alone or can be dropped-off.
