Latest renderings by SW Architects for the two building residential complex at 218 Front Street in Vinegar Hill show similarities to the nearby Front &. York project with shared courtyard and roof top terraces. The buildings will be seven stories high featuring 218 rental apartments with 66 affordable housing units, as well as 350 square feet of commercial space and 180 square feet of community space.
The site is bound by Front Street and York Street, and was formerly occupied by a one-story industrial warehouse and an open-air lumber yard. The anticipated completion date is December 2024, details about the housing lottery for the affordable units have not been published yet. Read more here.
Additionally, Ember Charter School network with elementary and middle schools in Bed Stuy is building out a new high school at 295 Front Street opposite of PS 307. The school will take 25,000 square feet for 17 years on the fourth and fifth floors of the seven-story building according to the Commercial Observer and plans to move in next school year.
