Where to ice skate in Brooklyn and lower Manhattan this winter

Ice skating season is here, with rinks now open across Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. Our overview includes rink locations, hours, admission, and skate rental information. NYC residents can take advantage of FREE skating sessions at Roebling Rink under the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn Bridge Park! Roebling Rink | Brooklyn Bridge Park | NOW OPEN

November 24, 2025–February 1, 2026 | $16 admission | $8 skate rental | Limited FREE tickets for NYC residents (with valid ID) Mondays–Fridays (see full schedule below)

Brooklyn Bridge Park’s ice skating rink returns to Emily Warren Roebling Plaza on November 24, offering skating beneath the Brooklyn Bridge with views of the waterfront. Admission is $16, with a 10% discount for groups of 10 or more. Skates ($8), helmets ($5), and skate aids ($5) are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis. The rink operates daily with 2-hour sessions—Mondays to Thursdays from 2–9pm and Fridays to Sundays from 10am–10pm. The rink will also offer lessons through Firework Skating Academy, purchased separately. Bonus for locals–Roebling Rink will offer NYC residents a limited quantity of free tickets during sessions one, two, and three on Mondays–Thursdays, and sessions two, three, four on Fridays (schedule below). Free tickets are issued on a first-come, first-serve walk-up basis, with valid ID to show residency.

LeFrak Center Ice Rink | Prospect Park | NOW OPEN

November 1, 2025–early April 2026 | $10 regular admission, $15 during evenings and holidays, $5 on Mondays, $8 for seniors | $10 skate rental

The LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park opened for ice skating season on November 1, with both covered and open-air rinks overlooking Prospect Park Lake. Public skating runs daily, with daytime sessions Monday–Thursday from 1:30–5:45pm, Friday from 1:30–5:15pm, Saturday and Sunday from 12–4:45pm, and evening sessions on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is $10 ($8 for seniors on weekdays), with $5 Monday specials and $15 for evening and holiday sessions; skate rentals are $10. Programs include skating school, figure skating, hockey, and private lessons. The rink also hosts special events, including Skate with Santa on select weekends in December. The Duck Island Café and Bar offers food and drinks with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the lake. Learn more here!

Abe Stark Rink | Coney Island | NOW OPEN

October 18, 2025–late March 2026 | $14 admission | $7 skate rentals

The Abe Stark Rink on the Coney Island Boardwalk at West 19th Street is open for the season through late March. Public skating hours are Saturdays, Sundays, and select holidays from 12:30–3:30pm, including November 11, November 28, December 26–30, December 31, January 1–2, January 19, and February 16–20. The rink is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

SKATE at Domino Park | Williamsburg | NOW OPEN

November 10, 2025–February 22, 2026 | $18 admission on weekdays, $22 on weekends

SKATE at Domino Park returns November 10 for its second season and will remain open through February 2026. The Williamsburg waterfront rink operates Monday–Friday from 2:30–9pm and weekends and holidays from 10:30am–9pm, with 75-minute skating sessions. Skates are available to rent in sizes from youth 9 to adult 13, and a limited number of penguin skate aids are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Verizon customers and New York City residents can receive half-price admission and rentals on select Wednesdays and Thursdays in November and December by visiting the Verizon booth for a coupon. The rink will also host birthday parties and feature programming such as DJ nights, holiday events, kids’ activities, and live performances. New this year, food vendors Stretch Pizza and Frita Batidos will serve rinkside.

The Rink at Brookfield Place | Lower Manhattan | NOW OPEN

November 2025–March 1, 2026 | $15 admission on weekdays, $17 on weekends | $5-$7 skate rental

The Rink at Brookfield Place reopens in November for the winter skating season in lower Manhattan, with views of the waterfront. Public skating runs Monday–Friday from 2–9:15pm and weekends and holidays from 9am–9:15pm, with one-hour sessions throughout the day. Admission is $15 on weekdays and $17 on weekends and holidays, with skate rentals available for $5–$7. Skate aids are available on a first-come, first-served basis for an additional fee. Lessons, including private and semi-private sessions with Olympian skaters Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov, as well as birthday parties, can be booked in advance.

Roller Rink at Brooklyn Children’s Museum | Crown Heights | NOW OPEN

The Brooklyn Children’s Museum is opening a new rooftop roller skating rink, Empire Skate of Mind, running November 15, 2025 through April 12, 2026. The all-ages rink features disco music and includes skate, helmet, and wrist guard rentals. Skating tickets include full-day museum admission, and the rink will be open weekdays from 2–5 pm and weekends from 10 am–5 pm. Admission is $15 per person, with skating priced at $10 with rentals or $8 if you bring your own skates.
