A fire broke out at 132 Montague Street around 6 am on Friday, December 10th in the commercial and residential building where Heights Vision and seven residential units are located. Some injuries but mostly minor were reported. Fire officials say the fire began on the third floor and spread to the fourth and fifth floors.
The BHA has been in touch with the Red Cross and they have determined that two of the apartments were occupied at the time of the fire. They are collecting funds that will be distributed to the impacted individuals in the form of a one-time cash grant. They will be collecting donations through December 31st, donate here.
This is the second major fire this fall in Brooklyn Heights.
