Coney Island has something for everyone! Whether your family is looking to go on rides, bust out of an escape, eat a hot dog or get some candy, learn about sea animals, have a go-kart race, watch some baseball, or relax at the beach, all ages can have some fun in the sun.
Getting there
Easily accessible by subway, take the D, F, N, or Q to the Coney Island – Stillwell Avenue station. The B28, B36, B38, B68, B74, and B82 all drop off in Coney Island. Families can also drive but finding street parking can be difficult, especially on the weekend. Off-street parking is available daily from 8:00am-8:00pm at the Official Coney Island Parking Lot next to Maimonides Park (enter at Surf Avenue and West 19th Street). Parking rates are $13 Monday-Friday, $20 on weekends, and $27 during special events. The New York Aquarium is located right off the boardwalk, and their parking spots are at $18 for 0-3 hours, $25 for 3-4 hours, and $40 for over 4 hours. Their lot opens at 9:30am.

Coney Escape Room
The Coney Escape Room recently opened this spring on the second floor of 1205 Surf Avenue. They have 3 Coney Island-themed escape rooms to try. Each escape room accommodates 2-8 players and lasts for 60 thrilling minutes. They also have a Live Game Show Experience, gift shop, and party room.Â

The Brooklyn Cyclones at Maimonides Park
The Brooklyn Cyclones are the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets. They play their home games at Maimonides Park in Coney Island through September. They offer family-friendly pricing, food options, and theme days and giveaways. Every Sunday, the first 500 children get ice cream vouchers and kids 14 & under can run the bases after the game. Tickets start at $17/person. The Brooklyn Cyclones are doing special neighborhood nights, including Gowanus Canal night on 5/27, Bay Ridge night on 5/29, Park Slope night on 6/11, DUMBO night on 6/7, Coney Island night on 7/31, and Red Hook night on 8/11!

Luna Park
Visitors can’t go to Coney Island and not take a ride on the Cyclone, which has been open since 1927. The rest of Luna Park has plenty of other rides to offer for thrill seekers, including the Electric Eden Raceway, the Steeplechase, and more. Little ones will enjoy Sky Tykes, Candy Circus, and Fire Patrol! The hours vary, so be sure to check their calendar before you visit. Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park
Take a spin on the Wonder Wheel, which was built in 1920, and other fun rides at Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park! The family-friendly Phoenix rollercoaster is a must ride! The Kiddie Park has 16 rides for children to choose from and opens at 11:00am daily. The Adult Park opens at 12:00pm daily and has 6 rides to try. Find ticket info here.

Brooklyn Go-Karts & Mini Golf
Head to Coney Island and get ready to play. There is a mini-golf course and a go-kart track. They even have a mini go-kart track for little drivers to take a spin. They are open Monday-Thursday from 12:00pm-9:00pm, Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm, and Saturday & Sunday 12:00pm-11:00pm.

New York Aquarium
The New York Aquarium, located just off the Coney Island boardwalk, is a fun destination for kids of all ages. See an interactive show at the Aquatheater, where California sea lions and their trainers perform all sorts of tricks. And discover over 500 incredible species of marine wildlife! Located in the outdoor Sea Cliffs area are the black-footed penguins, harbor seals, and sea otters. Guests can visit the hall of Spineless creatures to see octopuses, moon jellies, zombie worms, and more invertebrates, and visitors will find sharks, rays, sea turtles, and more in the indoor Sharks! exhibit. Go to the Beach
Pack up snacks and sunscreen and head to the beach. Lifeguards will be on duty daily from 10:00am-6:00pm. Beach season begins Memorial Day weekend and ends September 13th.

Watch Fireworks
Fridays this summer | 9:45pm | FREE
End your day at Coney Island with fireworks! They are viewable from all amusement parks in Coney Island and the Boardwalk.
Food
Be sure to stop by Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs and Williams Candy for some classic Coney Island treats. We also recommend trying Ruby’s Bar & Grill, The Coney Island Sandbar, and Gargiuolo’s Restaurant.
