This month brought a variety of new openings to Brooklyn, including a new playground in Dyker Heights, a fitness studio in Carroll Gardens, a children’s toy and shoe shop in Greenpoint, a new greenway section in Sunset Park & Red Hook, a co-working space in Brooklyn Heights, a gym in Park Slope, and much more. For next month, families can look forward to early summer openings of a bouldering gym in DUMBO, a trampoline park in East New York, and a pickleball gym in Greenpoint.
McKinley Park Playground | Dyker Heights | NOW OPEN
While this project is not totally complete and the water area will not turned on for a few months, the playground at McKinley Park is complete and open for play! Children of all ages will enjoy this beautiful new playground with plenty of slides, swings, activity panels, and challenging climbers! This playground is located on Bay Ridge Parkway and is easiest to enter at the corner of 7th Avenue.
Mad Records NYC | Williamsburg | NOW OPEN
Located at 395 Wythe Avenue, Mad Records NYC is not a club, not a studio, not a gallery – but the in-between. A place where music isn’t played, it’s built; where ideas don’t wait, they happen; where strangers turn into collaborators. They are a living frequency. The Goods Mart | South Williamsburg | NOW OPEN
The Goods Mart, a convenience store focused on healthier snacks and pantry staples, is now open at Williamsburg Wharf, the new mixed-use waterfront development at 470 Kent Avenue. This female-owned business offers over 450 snacks, drinks, and pantry items from 250+ brands. Be sure to grab a cup of $2 drip coffee!
The Sunset Park Greenway | Red Hook & Sunset Park | NOW OPEN
Come out to enjoy the newly-opened greenway section from Hamilton Avenue in Red Hook to 29th Street in Sunset Park. For over 14 years, the community has advocated for safe greenway infrastructure along this corridor. Spring and summer is the perfect time to make use of this exciting new amenity!
Williamsburg Soccer Club | Greenpoint | NOW OPEN
Williamsburg Soccer Club has been part of the community since 2017, but just recently opened its permanent space at 33 Nassau Street in Greenpoint. They offer classes, clinics, privates sessions, birthday parties, summer camp, and more!
Giggles & Wiggles | Greenpoint | NOW OPEN
This brand new children’s toy and shoe store is open at 42 West Street, Unit 103, with its entrance on Noble Street. Visit to shop premium, ethically-made, developmentally-centered, and design-forward goods for children ages 0-5. Giggles & Wiggles is open Tuesday-Sunday, 10:00am-6:00pm. They also offer music classes on Wednesday mornings.

This is The Malin’s 7th location in New York City and its 2nd location in Brooklyn, with an outpost already established in Williamsburg.

Brooklyn Uprising, a new indoor bouldering gym, is opening soon at 20 John Street in DUMBO, across from Brooklyn Bridge Park. The facility (ages 16+ only) will offer bouldering walls, strength-training equipment, locker rooms with showers, and a cedar sauna, along with optional climbing coaching and personal training. Memberships will start at $135 per month, with additional day pass, punch pass, and annual options planned.
Pure Barre | Downtown Brooklyn | Opening soon

Gifted and Talented Kids | Greenpoint | Opening September 8, 2026
Gifted and Talented kids is opening this fall at 16 McGuinness Boulevard South in Greenpoint at the corner of McGuinness and Broome. They will welcome families with children ages 2 to 6 across 4 programs (Little Explorers (2-3), Bright Minds (3-4), G and T Ready (4-5), and After School Enrichment (5-7). Expansion of Brooklyn Conservatory of Music | Grand Army Plaza | Opening Fall 2026
In Fall 2026, the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music will open a second hub on Grand Army Plaza, just a few blocks away from their Park Slope home at 58 7th Avenue. The new 12,000 square foot expansion at One Prospect Park West will more than double enrollment in their music programs, and will house their new Music Therapy Institute. Blooming Prep Preschool | Brooklyn Heights | Opening date TBA
Blooming Prep is opening its first school at 168 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights, taking over a former CVS location that has also been a seasonal October location for the Halloween store Spirit Halloween. The preschool will implement a Reggio Emilia curriculum.
Lidl | Williamsburg | Opening date TBA
Another 27,0000-square-foot location of Lidl is slated to open soon on the ground floor of 597 Grand Street in Williamsburg. The new store will occupy a mixed-use retail and residential building between Leonard and Lorimer Streets, which was the former site of a Key Foods. Similar to Trader Joe’s and Aldi, Lidl offers a broad assortment of products, including its 49-cent butter croissants, private-label Butcher’s Specialty meats, and Bon Gelati mini ice cream bars. Shoppers can also find gourmet favorites like frozen tiramisu, aged Parmigiano Reggiano, and authentic prosciutto.
Arizona College of Nursing | Downtown Brooklyn | Opening date TBA
Arizona College of Nursing is opening its first New York campus after signing a 10-year lease for 40,000 square feet at 532 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The Glendale, Arizona–based school will occupy the sixth through eighth floors of the Paxton, a 43-story mixed-use tower near Borough Hall and MetroTech.
Erudite Preschool | Boerum Hill | Opening date TBA
Erudite Preschool is a Russian immersion daycare and preschool for children ages 6 months to 5 years. They have signed a lease at 526 Baltic Street which is the Baltic Canal building.
Prospect Park Vale | Prospect Park | Reopening 2027
The Prospect Park Vale restoration began this month and expects to conclude in 2027. This $37.5 million, 8-acre project is the single largest capital allocation to Prospect Park since Lakeside back in 2010-2013. A new children’s nature exploration area is part of the design!
