New indoor pickleball club now open in Gowanus

A new 18,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility has opened in Gowanus, with five courts, lounge areas, a bar, and food service. Located at 80 4th Street, between Hoyt and Bond Streets, PKLYN welcomes players of all levels to book their own court, drop-in for open play, join a competitive league, or sign up for classes or private lessons. Paddles are available to rent or purchase, and balls are free for all to use. For kids, there is a Junior’s League that is exclusively for ages 10-17.

Drop-in play starts at $30/2 hours, leagues start at $360/6 weeks, classes start at $60/90 minutes, and court reservations are $110/hour for non-members.

In addition to five pickleball courts and a dink court, the space has a ping pong table, a mezzanine for spectators, a bar, a private room and social lounge, and garage doors that will open for local food truck vendors. The facility has partnered with many local food and beverage purveyors and offers beers from Threes Brewing, sandwiches from Alidoro, and cocktails from Social Hour. In addition to its own special events, PKLYN is also available for private events, birthday parties, corporate gatherings, and more.

Memberships are not required to play at PKLYN, but members enjoy special perks like early court booking access, discounts on courts, food, and drinks, as well as lesson credits, member happy hours, and access to private bathrooms and showers. Memberships are $100/month, plus a $50 initiation fee.

The club is located off the F/G stop at Carroll Street, and is open Monday-Saturday, 7am-10pm and Sunday 8am-8pm. Court reservations can made online 14 days in advance. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a guardian at the club, unless there is a special youth program or private lesson.
