NYC public pools opening June 28

NYC pools will open for the summer on Tuesday, June 28 and are free to the public. Pool hours are from 11 a.m. through 7 p.mdaily, with a break for pool cleaning between 3 and 4 p.m.  You’ll need to have a swimsuit to enter the pool area. No floaties allowed. Locks are required to enter. You’ll need to leave food, glass bottles, electronic devices, and newspapers at home.

Pools in our neighborhood:

  • Douglas and DeGraw Pool in Gowanus
  • Commodore Barry Pool by the Navy Yard
  • Red Hook Pool between Bay and Henry Streets (main phhoto)
  • PS 20 Playground mini pool in Fort Greene

Due to the current national lifeguard shortage, all swim programs, including adult lap swim, have been cancelled for summer 2022. Review our overview of water sprinklers in our neighborhoods here.
