Outdoor festivals and street fairs this season

The outdoor event season for families is kicking off in May festivals celebrating music, dance, art, and more, plus block parties and street fairs in our neighborhoods. Mark your calendar for block parties in Brooklyn Heights, Street Fair with Caribbean Flair, a summer bash at the Seaport plus more outdoor events through October. We will add more as the outdoor season continues, so check back in!

7th Annual HealthJox Festival | Brooklyn Bridge Park

Saturday, July 27 | 12-5pm

Basketball games – organized by BK-Network, attendees will enjoy a healthy day of co-ed basketball clinics hosted by “NY Liberty”; “Ladies Who Hoop” to run the female basketball tournaments; “BK-Network” to run the male basketball tournaments; AirOdart & Pickle Ball will be managed by Coach Ted Gustus. Now adding ZUMBA by LisaG! For kids, we have “The Girl Scouts of Greater New York”; Clowns to produce the kids’ games, face painting, balloon twisting and cool attractions… all for FREE!

STooPS Bed-Stuy Summer Festival | Bed Stuy

Soul Summit Music Festival | Fort Greene Park

Sunday, August 4 | 3-8pm

Join the dance party this summer! The Soul Summit Music Festival is an event that takes place in Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn on Sunday afternoons, 3pm-8pm during the summer. Organized and led by Soul Summit Music, the DJ collective founded in 2002 by Sadiq Bellamy, Tabu, and Jeff Mendoza. Always free and open to the public, the festival showcases artists of various backgrounds, including DJs, bands, dance companies, fashion designers, filmmakers and photographers, just to name a few. Over the past thirteen years Soul Summit Music has become an institution developing a loyal following that brings the hills of Fort Greene Park alive with families, food, and dancing. The festival provides the backdrop for access to music, networking and other activities. In just thirteen years the Soul Summit Music festival has become one of the most anticipated outdoor events in New York City, successfully creating a hub of activity in the immediate community and beyond attracting visitors from all over the tri-state area.

Seaport Kids x Summer Bash

Summer crafts, balloon twisting, basketball entertainment with 3 Time Guinness Record Holder and water sprinklers at the Seaport Square. Bring bathing suits for water play!

End of Summer Multi-Block Party | 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge

Saturday, September 14 | 3-6 pm 

Join the 5th Ave Bid and Brooklyn Bridge Parents for an end of summer block party on car-free 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge. Celebrate with live music, delicious food, art showcases and lots of free kids activities. The block party will take place from 72nd to 85th Street.

Back to School Party powered by Community Offshore Wind | Brooklyn Heights

Join us for our bigger than ever annual Back to School Party by Brooklyn Bridge ParentsMommy Poppins  powered by Community Offshore Wind during Open Streets on Montague on Sunday, September 15 from 12 to 4 pm with 40 free kids activities, performances and more. We will have games, arts & crafts, soccer, bubble shows, face painting, kids fitness classes, obstacle course, DJ and much more. Live performances will include a kids concert by Hoppalong Andrew and a dance party by Hype Dance. Enjoy car free blocks on Montague Street from Clinton – Henry & Henry – Hicks. Best for ages 0 – 12. Open Streets on Montague is a project of the Montague Street Business Improvement District in collaboration with the Brooklyn Heights Association and the New York City Department of Transportation. Brooklyn Book Festival Children’s Day @ Brooklyn Commons | Downtown Brooklyn

The 2024 Brooklyn Book Festival returns September 22 – 30  and includes 9 days of literary events. The festival include a Children’s Day in Brooklyn Commons! With a Picture Book Stage, Young Reader’s Stage, Performance Stage, Workshop Room and a dedicated Makers & Creators corner, families enjoy a full day of readings, workshops, performances, book signings, and art projects with favorite authors and illustrators.

A Brooklyn institution, Atlantic Antic is the oldest and largest street festival in Brooklyn and a joyful experience, looked forward to by residents of Brooklyn and beyond each year. From Fourth Avenue to the Waterfront, Atlantic Antic is a celebration of ethnic tastings, fine arts and crafts from around the world, non-stop music and entertainment, and just pure fun. There will be tastings from the many diverse Atlantic Avenue restaurants and offerings from the Avenue’s fashion, craft, home and other shops that make Atlantic Avenue so special. Mommy Poppins and Brooklyn Bridge Parents will host the Playtopia Kids Zone with dozens of free kids activities and performances towards Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Fall Fest | Atlantic Terminal Mall Plaza

Saturday, October 12 | 11am-2pm

Brooklyn Bridge Parents has partnered up with Atlantic Terminal Mall to host our annual Fall Fest on Saturday, October 12th from 11 am to 2 pm. We will turn the plaza into one big pumpkin patch, play and dance zone! Stay tuned for more details.

Sound & Color! Autumn In New York | Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Park’s annual fall festival will celebrate the changing of the season on Saturday, October 19, with an all-day family-friendly festival of music, arts and crafts, storytelling, lawn games and more. Check back here for 2024 details and schedule!

Halloween Fest | 5th Ave in Bay Ridge

Stopy by our annual Halloween Festival on 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge with FREE pumpkin decorating, bouncy house, music, kids activities, trick-or-treating and more! Brooklyn Bridge Parents is partnering up with the 5th Avenue BID in Bay Ridge to host a big fall festival on 10 blocks on car-free 5th Avenue from 72nd to 85th Street. Come enjoy the many restaurants from all over the world and a block party with bouncy houses, arts & crafts, pumpkin decorating, “Trunk-or-Treat”, haunted truck, music and much more. The free event will take place on Saturday, October 26th from 3 to 7 pm. Kids are encouraged to come in costumes!
