Our annual overview of spring egg hunts and kid-friendly Easter events features the first ever major egg hunt on Governors Island, a balloon pop-up experience with Easter bunny, chicken and spring balloon sculptures, Easter bunny meet & greets and more.

Pierrepont Playground Egg Hunt | Brooklyn Heights | April 2

The annual Pierrepont Playground Egg Hunt in Brooklyn Heights will take place on Sunday, April 2nd at 10:30am (Raindate: Sunday April 2nd). The egg hunt starts promptly at 10.30 am. Bring your baskets to collect candy-filled eggs (there will be a couple of surprises!) and enjoy our bake and coffee sale (Coffee generously donated by Brooklyn Roasting Company). Easter Eggstravaganza | Bay Ridge | April 1

You’re invited to a FREE event, hosted by Crossroads Christian Church in Bay Ridge – the 2023 Crossroads Easter Eggstravaganza! This event will be filled with games, activities, characters, and of course, Easter eggs for everyone! Please register early for faster check-in at the Eggstravaganza event! On the day of the event which will run from 2 to 4 pm, please enter Owl’s Head Park at the entrance near Colonial Rd & 68 Street. This event is for children ages 12 and under.RSVP here.

Balloontopia with Easter bunny selfies & Easter balloon art | Downtown Brooklyn | April 1 & 2

BALLOONTOPIA is New York City’s first Balloon Pop-Up Experience! Brooklyn Bridge Parents and City Point have partnered up to bring a playground of ginormous balloon art & immersive balloon experiences to Brooklyn. Play with balloons, learn about the history of balloons, snap some balloon selfies and take in all the balloon art on display. Free and fun for all ages! Larger than life caterpillars and Easter bunnies add an imaginative element to the experience celebrating spring and the Easter bunny itself might show up for some balloon play and selfies. The free event will take place Saturday, April 1 and Sunday April 2 from 11 am to 3 pm at City Point in Downtown Brooklyn. RSVP here.

Trinity Grace Church Easter Egg Hunt | Prospect Park | April 1

Join neighbors and friends at the annual Easter Egg hunt with egg hunt, games and crafts for kids of all ages. Free of charge and open to the public. The event will take place at the Prospect Park Bandshell North at 141 Prospect Park West on April 1st at 10 am. Find out more here.

Governors Island Egg Hunt | Governors Island | April 8

10,000 wood­en paint­ed eggs will be hid­den through­out Governors Island’s 120 acres of open space, with Island-spe­cif­ic prizes and give­aways for the most hard-boiled egg hunters on Saturday, April 8. This new event includes sev­er­al lev­els of egg hunts tai­lored to spe­cif­ic age groups, along with an Island-wide scav­enger hunt that every­one can take a crack at. The day-long cel­e­bra­tion at the Parade Ground will also include per­for­mances from Won­der­spark Pup­pets, Brook­lyn Mag­ic Shop, and more to be announced. Spring-themed arts and crafts will be fea­tured all day, and food will be avail­able for pur­chase onsite from Gov­er­nors Island ven­dors along with a beer gar­den from Gov­er­nors Island Beer Co. Vis­i­tors will also get to enjoy a Spring Bun­ny pho­to op and the hijinx of Looney Tooney the Clown. The Gov­er­nors Island Egg Hunt is free for all participants. No need to shell out big bucks for a day of eggs-cel­lent fam­i­ly-friend­ly free-range fun! Pre-reg­is­tra­tion is rec­om­mend­ed for the kids egg hunts which is for ages 2 – 13, no reg­is­tra­tion nec­es­sary for adults. The egg hunts will be on a first come first serve basis.

Easter at the Seaport | Seaport | April 8

Egg hunt, spring crafts, Lego building and more at the Seaport on Saturday, April 8 from 11 am to 1 pm. Free and open to all ages. RSVP here. Seaport Square in between Pier 16 and Pier 17, 89 South Street. Rain date Sunday, April 9. The egg hunts will be on a first come first serve basis.

Easter Egg Hunt at Coffey Park | Red Hook | April 8

Join Redemption Church and the Red Hook community for a day of games, food, music, and candy-filled eggs for kids. April 8 at 12 pm at Coffey Park at 5 Richards Street in Red Hook. Find out more here.

Easter Weekend at Time Out Market | DUMBO | April 8 & 9

Celebrate Easter this year with a family-friendly morning party on April 8th & 9th from 9:30am–12pm. Your $60 ticket (1 parent and 1 child) will get you access to a matinee film, secure participation in an egg-cellent Easter egg hunt on the Market’s fifth floor (prizes included complimentary doughnuts from Dough Doughnuts and complimentary Ice Cream from Sugar Hill Creamery). All guests will also get an Easter goodie bag with complimentary tickets to the nearby Jane’s Carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Your ticket also will include a $30 event card towards a meal of your choice at one of our concessions. On top of all that, you’ll be going home with some photos with the one-and-only Easter bunny! Easter Sunday Skate Party | Brooklyn Bridge Park | April 8
