Volunteer for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Kayaking Program | Pier 2
Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays all summer
There is no minimum age for volunteers for the kayaking program in Brooklyn Bridge Park, but they find middle/high schoolers are a good fit. Volunteers are helping 4 days a week with things like set up and closing, on the pier, helping the public with life vests (making sure they’re properly fit) and getting in and out of kayaks on the floating dock. The volunteers generally are Not on or in the water and do not need to know how to swim. And after their shift IF we have available kayaks and no line of public paddlers, we also let the volunteers (if they want) go out in the embayment and paddle for a bit. Sign up to volunteer for the summer here.
