This summer heroines will be sword training, tumbling & experiencing Demeter’s Valley at Daring Girls for rising 1st-7th grades (sponsored)

At Daring Girls, our program for female-identifying campers entering 1st-7th grades, our campers explore nature, build confidence, and discover powerful historical women, mythological goddesses, and the heroine within. From the outside, Daring Girls are tumbling, sword-fighting, and building strange contraptions with wire and tubes (you know, girl stuff); but on the inside, our young women are learning to take risks, fail with grace, and never give up. We start each morning by meeting the goddess of the day and building themed activities based on her story (when Pandora came to visit, we all decorated our own box!). Every day our heroines will be sword training, tumbling, and experiencing Demeter’s Valley, a free-form hour during which campers can explore any game that interests them, including the ones they invent themselves. Each day also includes time for campers to pursue artistic activities such as tie-dye and craft-making, an hour in Circe’s Lab experimenting with the magic of science, and a bond-building teamwork event.
