Spanning more than 25,000 square feet at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Emily Roebling Plaza near Pier 1, this free, open-to-the-public space will run through Sunday, July 19th. The German House of Soccer (GHOS) | Chelsea Manhattan Bringing the ultimate World Cup atmosphere to the heart of Manhattan, the German House of Soccer is a month-long, family-friendly pop-up experience. This massive fan hub offers a true taste of German soccer culture with live broadcasts of ALL World Cup matches, German beer, games for kids and German soccer legends appearances. The indoor venue is fully accessible and welcomes fans of all ages, so kids can join in on the fun. Entry is free with a day pass (first come, first served), and features a Legends Museum that younger fans will enjoy exploring, a DFB Corner Store for exclusive merchandise, and live talks. In August of 1776, the first and largest battle of the American Revolution took place in what is now Brooklyn, NY. The Battle of Brooklyn: Fought and Remembered at the Brooklyn Public Library uses photos, artifacts, rare maps and more from the Library’s collection to bring this turning point in American history to the public.

Since 1887, the Italian American community has been celebrating their faith, culture, and family traditions on the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Each July, the streets are filled with revelers from near and far to take part in a centuries old tradition known as the Dancing of the Giglio. For 12 days, the streets surrounding the Shrine Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel are transformed into a vibrant festival, with food vendors, rides, games, and daily entertainment.

9. City of Water Day 2026

The Water Between Us (Red Hook & Gowanus): Hosted by the RETI Center and Gowanus Dredgers from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club Boathouse. Things kick off shoreside with hands-on water quality education, followed by a community canoe paddle and cleanup starting at 4:00 PM. Life jackets are provided, and walk-ups are welcome.
Exploring NYC’s Waters Through Microbiology: From 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM outside the Sunset Park/Brooklyn Army Terminal Ferry Terminal. The Interstate Environmental Commission will host hands-on microbiological demonstrations—perfect for kids—where you can test harbor water for dissolved oxygen and pathogen indicators.
What Lives in the East River?: From 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM near the Atlantic Avenue Ferry Landing. This event features a marine life touch tank and catch-and-release fishing (open to ages 14 and up).
Canal Connections (Gowanus): Running from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, this moving event starts at JJ Byrne Park (Old Stone House) with a “splash dance” by the Artichoke Dance Company. The group will then trace the watershed path down 3rd Street to the Gowanus Canal, exploring street trees, rain gardens, and mussel habitats along the way.
Hooked on Red Hook Treasure Hunt: From 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Resilient Red Hook is hosting a park and pier cleanup combined with shoreline storytelling. Guests are highly encouraged to wear their best maritime costumes.
WNYC Transmitter Park Shoreline Clean-up: From 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM in Greenpoint. Join local volunteers for a morning of hands-on shoreline cleanup and guided tours of the park’s waterfront gardens. Gloves are provided if you don’t have your own.
