Free kid-friendly events this week in Brooklyn (8/25-9/1)

Labor Day weekend is already here, and our guide to free kid-friendly events will help Brooklyn families make the most of summer’s final days. This week brings nature activities in local parks, some of the season’s last outdoor movies, back-to-school events and giveaways, and even a special read-aloud with New York Liberty player Jonquel Jones at the Crown Heights Library. More top picks this week include the Unicycle Festival rolling from the Brooklyn Bridge to Coney Island, free soccer classes with Soccer Shots in Brooklyn Heights and Brooklyn Bridge Park, kids’ activities in Domino Square in Williamsburg, the Junior Carnival Parade & Youth Fest at the Brooklyn Museum, and the annual West Indian Parade along Eastern Parkway on Labor Day.

Coastal Cleanup volunteers help keep our shorelines clean by removing debris  from the waterfront. Volunteers of all ages are welcome; under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No orientation or experience is required, but note that this activity may involve climbing up and down rocks.
