March has been a busy month for the Brooklyn food scene, with a wave of highly anticipated openings bringing everything from international cult favorites to nostalgic neighborhood hangouts. Whether you are looking for a family-friendly spot for fried chicken and ice cream, a “wild-to-table” tasting menu, or a 1990s-themed cafe where you can play vintage Nintendo games with your kids, there is plenty to explore across Williamsburg, Park Slope, Crown Heights, and beyond.
In addition to the long-awaited arrival of Miami health-hubs and West Coast coffee staples, we’re seeing a surge of authentic regional flavors. This month’s restaurant closings
- Pitt’s | Red Hook | Chef Jeremy Salamon has permanently closed this Southern-inspired neighborhood favorite to focus on his Crown Heights restaurant, Agi’s Counter.
- Bar 56 | Dumbo | This modern American eatery and its adjacent wine shop, Taste56, officially closed its doors at the end of February after two years in the neighborhood.
- Stuart Cinema & Cafe | Greenpoint | This local cinema and café is leaving its West Street home for a larger space in Long Island City, and made its final Brooklyn curtain call on March 7.
- The Drift | Greenpoint | This popular neighborhood bar has announced its closure, with its final day of service set for Saturday, March 28.
- Everyman Espresso | Park Slope | The local coffee outpost on 5th Avenue officially closed its doors on March 22. They will still be open at the original location on 13th Street.
- Strong Rope Brewery | Gowanus | After 10 unforgettable years, this taproom is closing its doors on March 28 at their Gowanus location, they look forward to welcoming you at their Red Hook location.
This month’s restaurant openings
LeTish | Williamsburg
Originally a mobile espresso cart run by two local brothers, LeTish has found a permanent home at 171 South 4th Street as a family-operated, all-day cafe. The health-forward menu features Mediterranean and Italian fare, including fresh salads and sandwiches paired with Porto Rico coffee and Balthazar pastries. Cocktails and wine will be available at the space starting in April.

Balera| Williamsburg
This “pizzeria con cucina” opened its doors at 442 Graham Avenue. Inspired by historic Italian dance halls, the warm and unpretentious space was launched by a team of five Italian partners to bring authentic regional flavors to the neighborhood.

Threes Brewing | Greenpoint
After a two-month renovation, Threes Brewing has officially returned to 113 Franklin Street. The refreshed space features a brand-new food menu curated by the team behind Grand Army, highlighting family-friendly options like burgers, fried chicken, and creative snacks like corn ribs.

Pura Vida | Dumbo
Miami’s premier health-wellness cafe has arrived at 79 Front Street. This 4,000-square-foot destination serves an all-day menu of colorful, nutritious fare, from superfood smoothies to spicy tuna bowls and avocado smash toast. We especially recommend the acai bowls and the pistachio cookies.

Cicchetti BK | Bed-Stuy
Bringing a taste of Venice to the neighborhood at 185 Howard Ave, Cicchetti BK follows Venetian tradition by serving every drink with three “cicchetti” (small bites).

Chama Mama & Let’s Chama | Bushwick
This expansive Georgian destination has opened a 6,300-square-foot location at 81 Morgan Avenue. The three-part space features a 64-seat main dining room centered around a traditional open oven, a communal cocktail bar, and a dedicated bakery nook called Let’s Chama. Neighbors can stop by from 8 a.m. for traditional pastries like khachapuri and specialty lattes, or visit in the evening for Georgian wines and classic stews.

Bodega Nights| Bushwick
This Brazilian-inspired natural wine bar and restaurant opened last week at 425 Troutman Street, brought to the neighborhood by the team behind the Lower East Side’s Babysips. The venue features a menu focused on live-fire cooking and shareable plates, accompanied by a unique wine list highlighting rare Brazilian winemakers.

Sea and Soil | Boreum Hill
The worker-owned bakery and café, formerly located on President Street, is moving into a permanent new home at 388 Atlantic Avenue. The co-op officially opens its doors this Sunday, March 29th, featuring a signature menu of artisanal baked goods and homemade sandwiches served on naturally leavened focaccia.

Ramblin’ Chick | Carroll Gardens
This new fried chicken and ice cream venture from Ample Hills Creamery founders Jackie Cuscuna and Brian Smith moved into 512 Court Street. Designed as a community-focused “fried chicken parlor,” the menu features organic, pasture-raised fried chicken and creative house-made ice creams, blending nostalgic comfort food with high-quality, sustainably sourced ingredients.

Malvan| Carroll Gardens
This coastal Indian restaurant and cocktail bar from Chef Eric McCarthy of Indian Table brings hyper-regional seafood, coconut-based dishes, and fermented palm wine to 550 Court Street.

Canyon Coffee | Prospect Heights
The Los Angeles-based cult favorite, founded by Ally Walsh and Casey Wojtalewicz, has officially opened its second-ever brick-and-mortar location at 601 Vanderbilt Avenue. Known for its “vibe curation” and celebrity following, the minimalist café features a streamlined espresso program using organic, single-origin beans alongside a food menu of bright toasts, such as labneh with citrus-fermented honey.

Honey Badger | Prospect-Lefferts Gardens
This wild-to-table destination has reopened at 67 Fenimore Street featuring a revamped fermentation lab led by Noma’s former head of fermentation, Jason Ignacio White. While maintaining its signature 13-course tasting menu, the restaurant now offers a more accessible à la carte selection with seasonal dishes

Rogers Burgers| Crown Heights
This Flatbush-based favorite is the newest partner in the Brooklyn Children’s Museum culinary residency, serving a Caribbean-American menu at 145 Brooklyn Avenue through June 2026. Families can enjoy signature “Créole Burgers” alongside kid-friendly sliders and chicken tenders, offering a high-quality, culturally diverse dining option for museum-goers from Wednesday through Sunday.

Lidl | Crown Heights
This European discount grocer recently opened its 33,000-square-foot at 1730 Bedford Avenue, offering a budget-friendly alternative similar to Aldi or Trader Joe’s. Open daily from 8:00am to 9:00pm, the store features a fresh bakery with 49-cent croissants, private-label meats, and gourmet imports like aged Parmigiano Reggiano and authentic prosciutto.

Two Tigers| Crown Heights
This sleek new wine bar recently made its debut at 685 Franklin Avenue. Alongside a curated selection of wines, the neighborhood spot offers a concise menu of sophisticated small bites, making it a perfect new destination for a refined evening out.

Le Fournil | Park Slope
This third-generation French bakery has opened at 186 5th Ave in the former Julien Boulangerie space, led by Normandy-born baker Jean-François Hebert and his wife Elizabeth. The shop features a menu of authentic baguettes and specialty pastries including their signature crème brûlée madeleines, pistachio croissants, and classic cannelés.

Slope Cheesesteaks & Shakes | Park Slope
This new neighborhood spot at 445 7th Avenue specializes in a variety of hearty sandwiches, including the “Slope Supreme” and the “Spicy Slope.” The menu also features indulgent comfort food like cheesesteak-topped fries, steak sliders, and a selection of milkshakes.

Dial Up Days | Park Slope
Dial Up Days has officially arrived at 83 Seventh Avenue for its soft opening with a grand opening celebration coming soon. This 1990s-inspired snack shop and milk tea cafe from the Park Slope News Stand team features neon lights, vintage Nintendo games, and a VHS-lined interior designed for both kids and parents.

Tenon | Park Slope
Hailing from Toronto, this all-vegan sushi destination has opened at 329 Flatbush Avenue. The extensive plant-based menu features creative rolls alongside Thai and Japanese entrees, bento boxes, and vegan desserts, marking the first U.S. location for the popular Canadian brand.

Kampos Taverna | Bay Ridge
This new Greek restaurant brings the traditional flavors and “village-style” atmosphere of the island of Chios to 8413 3rd Avenue. The menu features authentic specialties like Chian Mastelo cheese and braised beef with pasta, alongside unique cocktails like the Mastiha Spritz.

Arthur | Greenpoint | Opening April 2026
Led by Chef Kevin Finch (formerly Atelier Crenn), this new neighborhood restaurant at 132 Franklin Street is inspired by modern Parisian bistros and seasonal Northeast ingredients. The beverage program by Charlotte Mirzoeff complements the menu with a focus on small producers and intentional, quirky wine and spirits.

Pizza 4P’s | Greenpoint | Opening Summer 2026
This Japanese-inspired pizza chain, originally founded in Vietnam, is set to open its first U.S. location at 50 Norman Avenue. Known for its “Earth-to-People” philosophy, the restaurant will feature an on-site creamery producing fresh house-made cheese, a zero-waste focus, and a menu that blends artisanal pizza with unique Japanese flavors.

Malavita | Greenpoint | Opening Spring 2026
Malavita will serve Italian-style sandwiches and wine at 614 Manhattan Avenue.

Carina | Greenpoint | Opening date TBA
The team behind Dumbo’s popular Mediterranean spot Celestine is headed to the Greenpoint shoreline. Slated to open next year within The Riverie at 18 India Street, this new Italian destination will offer prime views steps from the India Street Pier and the NYC Ferry.
The Peek Inn | Greenpoint | Opening March 2026
From the team behind The Meat Hook, The Peek Inn is set to debut in Greenpoint this month. Not to be confused with the recently opened Peek In café on Franklin Street, this new bar at 38 Driggs Avenue (the former Fin Du Monde space) will lean into nostalgic neighborhood vibes. Expect a menu featuring steamed hot dogs and their signature “beertini,” served dirty with olives.
Kirbee’s | Greenpoint | Opening Summer 2026
Texas barbecue is coming to Greenpoint this summer at 55 McGuinness Boulevard South. Founded by award-winning pitmasters, Kirbee’s will take over the former Peeps Kitchen space near McGoldrick Park. Expect authentic smoked meats like Texas-style brisket alongside creative sides like green spaghetti.

Paris Baguette | Greenpoint | Opening TBA
The global South Korean bakery chain is bringing its French-inspired pastries and sandwiches to 856 Manhattan Avenue. The menu features a wide array of signature cakes, breads, and salads, marking a continued expansion for the franchise across North Brooklyn.

Cafe Bar J.F. | Williamsburg | Opening Spring 2026
From the Llama Group, this new restaurant at 50 Withers Street centers on seasonal cooking and a modern interpretation of South American tavern culture through a New York lens.
Echo Lake | Williamsburg | Opening April 2026
Industry veterans Chloe Frechette and Paul McGee are bringing this tropical, rum-forward bar to 357 Grand Street, featuring a dedicated daiquiri section and a daily “Tiny and a Tot” special.
Naked Tomato | Williamsburg | Opening date TBA | The renowned Israeli Chef Eyal Shani will open a new restaurant at Williamsburg Wharf, called Naked Tomato. The restaurant will occupy 4,000 square feet on the ground floor at 470 Kent Avenue. Some of Chef Shani’s restaurants have included Port Sa’id, Michelin-starred Shmoné, HaSalon, Miznon, and the Kosher-certified restaurant Malka, with NYC locations on the Upper West Side and in DUMBO.

Gotham Burger Social Club | Williamsburg | Opening date TBA | The first permanent Brooklyn home for the legendary pop-up will open in 2026, specializing in Oklahoma-style fried onion smash burgers and a full whiskey-focused bar program.

Motek | Williamsburg | Opening Spring 2026
The Miami-born Mediterranean favorite is bringing its award-winning “kosher-style” menu to a new home at 80 N 7th St. Expect a vibrant menu featuring silk-smooth hummus, crispy chicken schnitzel, and Yemenite-style malawach, alongside a variety of wood-fired kebabs, fresh pita, and shareable mezzes for lunch, brunch, and dinner.

Allegretto | Williamsburg | Opening date TBA
From the team behind Francie, this new spot at 132 Broadway will serve Neapolitan pizzas, Southern Italian snacks, and more dishes like Fried Bucatini and Little Gem Caesar, plus Italian-inspired cocktails and wine on tap. The space will feature a wood-fired oven and a garden backyard.
The Goods Mart | Williamsburg | Opening April 2026
The Goods Mart, a convenience store focused on healthier snacks and pantry staples, is coming later this year to Williamsburg Wharf, the new mixed-use waterfront development at 470 Kent Avenue. This will be the shop’s first location in Williamsburg, joining a retail lineup at Williamsburg Wharf that includes a new location of Breads Bakery and a restaurant from chef Eyal Shani. The female-owned Goods Mart offers snacks, drinks, and everyday items from emerging brands.

Maman | Dumbo |Opening Spring 2026
The beloved French-inspired café Maman is expanding to Dumbo at 66 Water Street, taking over the former Seamore’s space. Known for their rustic décor and world-famous nutty chocolate chip cookies, this new outpost will offer an all-day destination for lavender lattes and French-inspired brunch right in the heart of the waterfront.

TBA | Dumbo | Opening June 2026
The hospitality team behind Celestine and Grand Army is bringing a new Mexican concept to 5 Front Street. Taking over the former Gran Electrica space, the upcoming restaurant will feature a 2,000-square-foot interior plus outdoor seating, offering a fresh destination for dinner and weekend brunch in the heart of the neighborhood.

Empanada City | Brooklyn Heights | Opening Summer 2026
This third location is officially bringing fresh, handmade empanadas and Latin vibes to 107 Atlantic Avenue. The expansion features the same high-quality flavors that have made the shop a community favorite.

Häagen-Dazs | Boerum Hill | Opening Spring 2026
The iconic ice cream brand is coming to a prime corner storefront at 180 Smith Street. Slated for an official opening this spring, this new outpost will serve up their signature premium scoops, sundaes, and frozen treats in the heart of the neighborhood’s bustling retail corridor.

The team behind Confidant, are opening an all-day concept at 129 Atlantic Avenue. Lou & Bev’s will serve as a neighborhood hub, offering fresh baked goods during the daytime before transitioning into a wine and pizza destination at night.
Trudie’s Tavern| Carroll Gardens | Opening Spring 2026
From the team behind Gertrude’s and Gertie, this new spin on the classic neighborhood bar and grill is set to open this spring in the former Buttermilk Channel space at 524 Court Street.
Bar Ferdinando | Carroll Gardens | Opening April 2026
Local restaurateur Sal Lamboglia is reviving the historic 121-year-old Ferdinando’s Focacceria space at 151 Union Street as a new neighborhood cafe and cocktail bar. The menu will honor the site’s Sicilian roots with classic panelle and arancini alongside new Italian desserts and an amaro-forward cocktail program.

Pies ‘n’ Thighs | Park Slope | Opening March 2026
Two decades after its iconic Williamsburg debut, this fried chicken and biscuit destination is opening a second location at 244 Flatbush Avenue in late March. Founder Sarah Sanneh brought the original’s neighborhood charm, complete with wraparound banquettes, to the new space, alongside a menu of beloved classics plus new kid-friendly additions like chicken tenders.

Komenori | Park Slope | Opening April 2026
Chef Sean Kang’s debut solo venture is a 1,400-square-foot destination located at 397 5th Avenue, featuring customizable hand rolls and signature sushi courses. The menu also highlights unique à la carte dishes, such as smoky wagyu carpaccio, in a sleek new neighborhood space.
Shania’s Max Bet | Gowanus |Opening Summer 2026
Taking over the former Dirty Precious space at 317 3rd Avenue, this new Atlantic City–themed bar is slated for a mid-summer 2026 debut.
Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop | Gowanus | Opening date TBA | The beloved Greenpoint slice shop is slated to open a new location in Gowanus. It will be located in the former home of Ample Hills at 305 Nevins Street. Stay tuned for more updates!
Hop | Red Hook | Opening Summer 2026
From Billy Durney and the Kent Hospitality Group, this new Cambodian restaurant is slated to open at 358 Van Brunt Street in summer 2026. The menu will focus on authentic Cambodian flavors, including a variety of rice and noodle dishes, marking a significant expansion for the team behind local favorites like Hometown Bar-B-Que and Red Hook Tavern.

Bark Barbecue | Bushwick | Opening Spring 2026
This popular barbecue spot is expanding from its Time Out Market food stall to a new 8,000-square-foot standalone flagship at 25 Thames Street. Diners can expect the same signature Texas-style meats with Dominican flavors alongside new additions like a bar, coffee counter, and live music stage.

Wizard Hat Pizza | Crown Heights | Opening TBA
Josiah Bartlett’s sourdough-based operation is moving into a permanent home at 259 Rogers Avenue. Known for a distinctively thin, crispy crust and naturally leavened dough, the new brick-and-mortar space will bring his highly sought-after pies.

Smorgasburg| Williamsburg & Prospect Park | Opening April 2026
The city’s largest open-air food market returns for the 2026 season the first weekend of April. It will be back at Marsha P. Johnson State Park on Saturdays and Prospect Park’s Breeze Hill on Sundays.

Six Coasts by Smorgasburg | Governors Island | Opening May 2026
Starting in May 2026, Six Coasts by Smorgasburg will open a 32,000-square-foot waterfront destination on Governors Island, offering a seasonal seafood menu and tropical cocktails inspired by six distinct American coastlines. This family-friendly spot will offer cultural programming and live music as well.
