Free Kayaking back in Brooklyn Bridge Park and Red Hook

You can take the kids kayaking again in Red Hook and Brooklyn Bridge Park this summer – for free.

Red Hook

The Red Hook Boaters operate from the New York City Louis Valentino Jr. Pier Park at the end of Coffey Street in Red Hook Brooklyn. For minors to paddle a legal guardian must be present. Sundays 1 to 4 PM June 6th until September and Thursdays 6 to 8 PM June 3rd until August 12th.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Join Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy and Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse for free kayaking sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays from June through August, and Saturdays in September at the Pier 4 beach. This year they are introducing a new program specifically for kids. Starting July 11, on Sundays from 12 to 2:30 pm they are open just for kids and their guardians. Kids age 11 or older can paddle alone (as long as a guardian is present). Registration goes live here at 5 pm on Tuesday, May 25 for kayaking on Wednesday, June 2 and Saturday, June 5. Thereafter, you can book a reservation free of charge up to 2 weeks in advance.
