New restaurants, bars, bakeries, cafés, and supermarkets that opened in our neighborhoods in November ’25

November brought a wave of exciting new restaurants to Brooklyn, from a family-friendly pizzeria in DUMBO to an Asian market in Downtown Brooklyn with fresh seafood to an all-day cafe in Domino Park, a Greek-Latin fusion restaurant in Williamsburg, and a Vietnamese-Mexican spot in Greenpoint.

More exciting openings are on the horizon, including an Afghan bakery in Brooklyn Heights, Gertie’s new deli-counter concept in Prospect Heights, and a Lidl in Park Slope and a Whole Foods “Daily Shop” in Williamsburg, both opening in December.

But first up, some notable restaurant closings this month, including Colonie in Brooklyn Heights and Hildur in DUMBO.

This month’s restaurant closings

  • The Boerum Hill sushi restaurant Taiki closed at the beginning of November.
  • The Mexican restaurant Cruz Del Sur in Park Slope closed at the beginning of November.
  • The Park Slope location of Spice Thai also closed this month.
  • Chilo’s, the beloved taco spot and agave bar in Bed-Stuy closed after 10 years in business. The team hopes to relaunch.
  • The beloved German restaurant Schnitzel Haus in Bay Ridge has closed. The restaurant hopes to reopen in the former space of the Bay Ridge restaurant Casa Pepe.
  • The owners of Colonie in Brooklyn Heights and Hildur in DUMBO have announced that both restaurants will shut their doors. Hildur, which offered a new Scandinavian concept in the former space of the Mexican Gran Eléctrica, closed on Saturday, November 15. Colonie’s last service is Sunday, November 30, after close to 14 years one Atlantic Avenue. The owners also closed their wine bar Pips, also on Atlantic Avenue, earlier this fall.

This month’s restaurant openings

Ziggy’s Roman Café | DUMBO

Ziggy’s Roman Cafe is now open in DUMBO! Founded by husband-and-wife team Helen Zhang and Igor Hadzismajlovic (co-founder of Employees Only), the restaurant is designed for families, offering a place where parents can relax over a meal and cocktails while kids enjoy a mezzanine play area stocked with sensory toys. The two-level space includes a bar, ground-floor dining room, and upstairs seating and play zone. The menu features Roman-style pizzas, classic pastas like Cacio e Pepe and Carbonara, Artichokes alla Romana, crostini, salumi and cheeses, and dishes such as fennel agrodolce sausage and grilled skirt steak. The cocktail list includes martinis, bellinis, and other signature and low-ABV options. Located at 15 Main Street, Ziggy’s is open Wednesday–Sunday, 5-10pm, with more hours coming soon. Walk-ins welcome.

Devine’r | DUMBO

A new cafe selling artisanal coffee, pastries, plus a curated apparel selection, has opened on Washington Street in DUMBO. The menu features an assortment of coffee and espresso drinks, as well as matcha, hojicha, and vanilla ice cream, plus affogato.

Taco Bell | Downtown Brooklyn

A new location of Taco Bell has opened in Downtown Brooklyn, steps away from Borough Hall. You’ll find the fast food chain’s classic tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and more.

Hashi Market | Downtown Brooklyn

A new Asian market has opened at 299 Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. It’s a supermarket, mini department store, plus catering services, all in one. You’ll find sashimi-grade seafood, bentos, onigiri, matcha, and Japanese snacks and groceries.

La Pizza Roma | Boerum Hill

A new pizzeria has opened on 4th Avenue, steps away from the Barclays Center. They serve square, vegan, and gluten-free pizzas, along with homemade mozzarella sticks, Caesar salad, and more. Open Sunday to Thursday from 10am-2am and on Friday and Saturday from 10am-4am.

Enso | Cobble Hill

An all-day cafe serving coffee and breakfast in the mornings and dinner and wine in the eveings has opened at 192 Amity Street in Cobble Hill.

Mister Cheeks | Carroll Gardens

Mister Cheeks, founded by local Brooklyn parents, is now fully open at 347 Court Street. This family-friendly all-day café will serve coffee and pastries in the morning—grabbed easily from their take-out window—followed by sandwiches, soups, salads, and rotisserie chicken all day, with plenty of grab-and-go options. Dinner will also highlight their rotisserie chicken, chicken schnitzel, and other mains. You’ll be able to either dine in or take any item off the menu to go, including fun snacks for kids and their homemade soft serve. After their “soft serve opening” (coffee and soft serve from the takeout window) in October, they have now fully opened.

High Beam Coffee | Red Hook

A new coffee shop has soft opened at 369 Van Brunt Street. They are open weekdays 7am-6pm, weekends 8am-6pm. Another location of the cafe will open on Court Street by the end of the year.

Jamieri Kafe | Red Hook

A new cafe has opened in Red Hook, serving coffee, matcha, and small bites from 7am-7pm at 392 Van Brunt Street.

Gertie | Prospect Heights 

Gertie, which closed in Williamsburg in June, has soft opened in Prospect Heights with a new counter-deli concept. They have a latke bar where customers can choose their toppings at the counter, including smoked fish (lox, whitefish, house-smoked salmon), apple butter, sour cream, pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and more. Gertie also serves bagels, bialys, chicken schnitzel, tuna and whitefish salads, matzo ball soup, pickles, and more. Baked goods include knishes, babka, and black-and-white cookies. They will also make their own sodas and egg creams, and serve inventive coffee drinks such as the chocolate egg cream latte and the B&W coffee shake made with nitro cold brew and chocolate syrup, topped with vanilla cold foam and bits of black-and-white cookies. With a full liquor license, they will be able to serve cocktails such as borscht bloody marys and Aquavit pickle martinis. Gertie takes over the former space of R&D Foods, who still operate R&D Goods next door and will share a back yard.

Il Leone | Park Slope

Il Leone, a popular pizza popup hailing from Peaks Island, Maine, has opened a Brooklyn location on 7th Avenue between First and Garfield, in the former Bar Vinazo space. Expect Neapolitan-style pies with toppings ranging from Maine lobster to zucchini and squash blossom to asparagus. The drink menu includes Italian wines, martinis, spritzes, and Maine beers. Alongside pizzas, Il Leone will also serve antipasti including meatballs, burrata with prosciutto di Parma, and pan-fried artichokes. Located at 158 7th Avenue, Il Leone also has a back yard space that will seat customers in the warmer months.

Psta | Park Slope

This new pasta shop is celebrating their soft opening at 210 Flatbush Avenue, in the former space of Thermostat Cafe. The fast-casual restaurant will bring the neighborhood an affordable option for both lunch and dinner, with pastas starting at just $12. All pastas and sauces are made in-house, and range from a rigatoni with creamy tomato vodka sauce to a gemelli with basil-pistachio pesto, with toppings on offer like chicken, shrimp, meatballs, mozzarella and burrata, and truffle oil. They also have antipasti, salads, and desserts, and even kids’ pastas.

K-Slope Market | Park Slope

Steve’s C-Town closed in September in Park Slope, and a new marketplace has soft opened in its place. Their grand opening will be in January, but they’ll be building the full store experience until then. Located at 329 9th Street, they will offer natural and organic fruits and veggies, full-service butcher shop, artisan deli, international fish counter, fresh-baked breads, sushi, flowers, groceries, international foods and more. They will also have free local delivery.

Slope Market | Park Slope

A new supermarket opened on November 9 on 4th Avenue between 18th & 19th streets. Open daily until 9pm.

Dry Humour | Park Slope

Dry Humour is a mother/daughter owned non-alcoholic wine, spirits, and mocktail shop in Park Slope. Stop by their location at 7th Avenue and 16th Street for a tasting!

Andamiro | Park Slope

A new Korean restaurant has opened at276 5th Avenue in Park Slope, in the former home of Naruto Ramen. Create your own bowl of Gukbap, a soul food classic from Korea. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 5:00-9:30pm. Walk-ins only.

Little Plaza Pizza | Prospect Lefferts Gardens

A new pizzeria by the team behind La Flor opened on Parkside Avenue on November 13, with a menu of nine pizzas. Pies include white honey (mozzarella topped with whipped ricotta, basil, and honey), Buffalo chicken, and sausage pepperoni.

Barker Cafeteria | Bed-Stuy

Baker Cafeteria is a daytime spots open Wednesday through Sundays from 11am-4pm, serving sandwiches (try the cold roast beef sandwich), soups, and pastries such as a pistachio torta caprese. The owners met as chefs at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. You can either take food to go or enjoy in their cozy space on Nostrand Avenue.

Chyelle | Bushwick

A new vintage furniture store opened this month on Cook Street in Bushwick, complete with a cafe serving coffee made with Loveless Coffee beans. Their menu features classic espresso drinks, plus a variety of Korean drinks, such as Yuzu Bae Cider, Honey Corn Rosemary Latte, and Maple Black Sesame Sweet Potato Matcha.

Pizza Crew | Bed-Stuy

A new pizzeria opened on Malcolm X Boulevard in Bed-Stuy this month. The slice shop has checkerboard floors and sells beers from from next-door neighbor Turtles All The Way Down.

Bertoni | Williamsburg

Third generation gelato master, Julio Bertoni,  just opened the first location of Bertoni Gelato in NY. Their newest location is on Wythe and S2nd with Twelve chairs, Sunday in Brovklyn and Antidote steps away for dinner pre gelato. You might ask yourself, do I need gelato even when it’s cold outside? The answer is a resounding yes. The presentation alone will draw you in with their tubs of pillowy gelato but the flavorssss…yummmm. Go here now.

Cafe Susanne | Williamsburg

Cafe Susanne, designed by James Beard–nominated designer Matthew Maddy, opens this month in Williamsburg’s Domino Park, offering coffee, tea, pastries from Pain d’Avignon, and sandwiches from Ridgewood’s pop-up Salvo’s. The menu also includes items like croissants, cheese and bacon twists, banana bread, rotating gluten-free options, and evening snacks such as Marcona almonds, assorted olives, and a house caviar selection. They are currently open 7am-7pm, and will debut an raw bar concept called Bar Susanne in the spring.

Naxos | Williamsburg

A new restaurant in Williamsburg joins a lineup of recently opened Greek restaurants in the neighborhood. Naxos serves a blend of Greek and Latin cuisines, with shared plates, mains such as grilled fish, and freshly baked pita bread. There is also belly dancing and a playlist of Greek and Latin music in the dining room.

Boro Brine | Williamsburg

Cozy and chic seafood focused restaurant Boro Brine is now open for those who love the treasures of the sea. Don’t have enough seafood on your plate? They have caviar add on for $40. Boro brine is also offering take out thanksgiving dinner for two, details here.

Temakase | Williamsburg

The third location of this popular hand roll enterprise, Temakase, is open now on Kent ave. House specialties include tuna roll, salmon roll and signature NOM boxes, check out their full menu here.

The Nest | Williamsburg

Brooklyn-born fast-casual restaurant famous for its rotisserie chicken and egg dishes is busy getting their space ready for the Williamsburg crowd. The Nest opened this month on North 3rd near Bedford.

Falansai | Greenpoint

The beloved (now-closed) Bushwick restaurant Falansai, from Vietnamese-Mexican chef Eric Tran, has found a new home in Greenpoint. The restaurant has teamed up with Pan Pan Vino Vino at 120 Norman Avenue, taking over their space. By day, Falansai will continue operating as a bakery—run by Pan Pan’s team—and by night, it will transform into a wine bar and dinner destination. The evening menu highlights Tran’s signature Vietnamese-Mexican fusion, with dishes like curry chicken tostadas, lemongrass pork skewers with pickles, and shrimp cake lettuce wraps. Guests can choose from six à la carte options or two prix fixe menus ($58 or $88), both requiring full table participation. The bakery will be open Sunday–Thursday from 8am-3pm and Saturday from 12pm-3pm. Dinner service runs Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5-10pm and Friday from 5pm-12am.

Cadet Coffee | Greenpoint

A new cafe has opened on Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint in the foremr home of Idle Mind Tavern. They serve coffee, tea, matcha, and pastries from L’Imprimerie in Bushwick. 

Caffe Negroni | Bay Ridge

Caffe Negroni just opened in Bay Ridge on the corner of 86th Street and 3rd Avenue. Dimly lit and cozy, Caffe Negroni is currently serving dessert and beverages and will soon serve its full day menu. Customers can look forward to trying a prosciutto scramble, lobster toast, and cheese ravioli with brown butter and sage.

Tous Les Jours | Bay Ridge

Tous Les Jours recently had its grand opening and is located on 86th Street. It is a Korean bakery that serves French and Asian treats. Stop by for delicious cakes, pastries, sandwiches, breads, coffee, and more!

Pura Vida | DUMBO | Opening in 2026

The all-day café based out of Miami opened its first Brooklyn in Williamsburg this spring, and will open another outpost in DUMBO soon. The new cafe will be 4,000 square feet, located at 79 Front Street. Pura Vida focuses on health food, with avocado toast and egg dishes for breakfast, salads, wraps, and bowls for lunch, plus superfood smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and wellness shots to drink.

Diljān Bakery | Brooklyn Heights | Opening Fall 2025 

The team behind Little Flower Cafe in Astoria and Blue Hour in Bushwick (which closed recently) is taking over the space at 330 Hicks Street, formerly Fatoosh Pitza & Grill. Diljān will be an Afghan bakery that will specialize in Afghan flatbread, or or Naan e panjayi. Breads will use Afghan ingredients such as saffron, cardamom, pistachio, and apricots. They will also serve samosas with ground halal lamb and beef, a pastry called Saffron Shah, filled with saffron pastry cream, and the sheer pira, an Afghan milk fudge topped with custard. The bakery plans to launch in November.

Ingas Bar sister restaurant | Boerum Hill | Opening date TBA

The Brooklyn Heights restaurant Ingas Bar plans to open a sister restaurant in Boerum Hill, located at 112 Bond Street, the former home of  Cafe Kitsune. Stay tuned for more details!

Shokku Bakery | Boerum Hill | Opening date TBA

A new Japanese bakery serving cakes and breads baked daily with Hokkaido milk and flour will open soon at 295 Atlantic Avenue.

Golden Ratio | Clinton Hill | Opening date TBA

Redwood Hospitality, the team behind Café Mado, Place des Fêtes, and Laurel Bakery, is opening a new cocktail bar at 216 1/2 Greene Avenue. Every drink on the menu can be ordered either hard or “soft,” with zero alcohol. They will also serve a menu of veggie-forward bar snacks.

Athena Keke’s | Clinton Hill | Opening date TBA

Coming soon to Greene Avenue, Athena Keke’s is a sports bar celebrating women’s sports. Part of the NY Liberty Bar Network, it will host live games and be kid-friendly during the day.

Tous les Jours | Clinton Hill | Opening date TBA

A new location of the French-Asian bakery Tous les Jours is coming to 536 Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill, next to Club Pilates Clinton Hill. It will take over the former Khim’s Millennium Market space and serve fresh bread, pastries, coffee, and drinks.

Bar Ferdinando | Carroll Gardens | Opening Fall 2025

Sal Lamboglia, the chef behind Cafe Spaghetti, Sal Tang’s and Swoony’s, is opening Bar Ferdinando this fall, a reimagining of the 120-year-old Ferdinando’s Focacceria, which closed last year. The new all-day spot will serve snacks, focaccia sandwiches, and classics like Sicilian rice balls, pane e panelle, and octopus salad, alongside an Italian-inspired cocktail program. The restaurant will preserve original artwork and fixtures from the historic restaurant as an homage to the neighborhood institution.

Trudie’s Tavern | Carroll Gardens | Opening Winter 2025-26

The team behind Gertie (formerly in Williamsburg, now moving to Prospect Heights) will also open a new concept in Carroll Gardens, in the former home of Buttermilk Channel at 524 Court Street. The new spot will be called Trudie’s Tavern, and will serve steak and rotisserie chicken, burgers, chicken and waffles made with matzo, steak and seafood towers, and more. They’ll also have a kid’s menu!

Hōp | Red Hook | Opening Winter 2025-26

Two former staff members of Red Hook Tavern (and husband-and-wife team) will open a new Cambodian restaurant at 58 Van Brunt Street in late 2025. For now, they are offering a pop-up at Runner Up in Park Slope, Wednesdays–Sundays 5-9:30pm. Book here!

Folk | Park Slope | Opening Fall 2025

The team behind the Park Slope restaurant Lore is opening a new cocktail bar this fall at 689 6th Avenue. Folk will serve both craft cocktails and small plates by chef Jay Kumar (also of Lore in Park Slope) in a 1,000-square-foot space. In addition to cocktails, the food menu will feature Indian flatbreads and UK-style pot pie.

Dial Up Days | Park Slope | Opening Winter 2025-26

A 90s/Y2K-inspired spot serving sandwiches and ice cream open on 7th Avenue between Berkeley Place & Union Street this winter.

Lidl | Park Slope | Opening December 10

Lidl will open on December 10 at 680 Baltic Street, at the corner of 5th Avenue and Baltic Street. The supermarket is part of the Paseo on Fifth development in Park Slope, which includes two luxury apartment buildings and various retailers on the ground floor. Similar to Trader Joe’s and Aldi, Lidl offers a broad assortment of products, including its 49-cent butter croissants, private-label Butcher’s Specialty meats, and Bon Gelati mini ice cream bars. Shoppers can also find gourmet favorites like frozen tiramisu, aged Parmigiano Reggiano, and authentic prosciutto. Lidl will be open 8am-9pm daily.

Thursday Bread Coffee | Park Slope | Opening Winter 2025-26

A new bakery serving Swedish breads and pastries is coming to Park Slope this winter. They will serve Nordic-inspired coffee and light bites in addition to breads and baked goods. The bakery will be located at 140 5th Avenue.

Roast Coffee | Park Slope | Opening date TBA

Based out of Murray Hill, Roast Coffee has announced that they will open a new location on Prospect Park West.

Lincoln Station | Park Slope | Opening date TBA

Lincoln Station, the cafe location not far from the Brooklyn Museum in Prospect Heights, will open a new outpost in Park Slope, in the ormer Bare Burger space on 7th Avenue. In addition to coffee and cafe fare, the Prospect Heights location also serves draft beer, wine, and kombucha on tap.

Mariscos El Submarino | New location in Park Slope | Opening date TBA

This Mexican seafood joint based in Jackson Heights has recently expanded to Greenpoint and Clinton Hill, and will soon open another location at 226 7th Avenue in Park Slope, in the former hope of Maya Taqueria.

Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop | Gowanus | Opening date TBA

The beloved Greenpoint slice shop is slated to open a new location in Gowanus. It will be located in the former home of Ample Hills at 305 Nevins Street. Stay tuned for more updates!

Union Market | Gowanus | Opening date TBA

The Brooklyn grocer Union Market has a signed a lease for a 10,000-square-foot grocery store at 499 President in Gowanus. Union Market carries speciality and organic groceries, with six locations across Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan. The mixed-use development at 499 President is slated to become a neighborhood hub, with other retail tenants including Italian cafe Corto, Spear Physical Therapy, pizzeria Paulie Gee’s, and Royal Palms Shuffleboard.

Sparrow | Williamsburg | Opening date TBA

The Sparrow is a new Art Deco cocktail bar and restaurant opening soon on Broadway in South Williamsburg. The menu will offer a full raw bar with seafood towers, shellfish, crudos, and caviar. Their other specialities include: their house burger, steak frites, in addition to sharable plates.

Lidl | Williamsburg | Opening Winter 2025-26

The sweep of Lidl markets into the Brooklyn scene continues with a location in Williamsburg gearing up to open on Lorimer and Grand Street.

Whole Foods Daily Shop | Williamsburg | Opening December 11

Whole Foods is opening a 7,888-square-foot “daily shop” at 774 Grand Street in Williamsburg, part of its smaller-format, grab-and-go concept.  The bodega-style shop will feature local Northeast products alongside fresh produce, sushi, rotisserie chicken, take-and-bake pizzas, seasonal salads, and 365 brand staples, plus artisanal cheeses and baked goods from Junior’s and Balthazar.

New Restaurant by Chef Eyal Shani | Williamsburg | Opening date TBA

The renowned Israeli Chef Eyal Shani will also open a new restaurant at Williamsburg Wharf. The restaurant will occupy 4,000 square feet on the ground floor at 470 Kent Avenue. Some of Chef Shani’s restaurants have included Port Sa’id, Michelin-starred Shmoné, HaSalon, Miznon, and the Kosher-certified restaurant Malka, with NYC locations on the Upper West Side and in DUMBO. Breads Bakery | Williamsburg | Opening in 2026

Following their recent opening at the new Pier 1 Pavilion in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Breads Bakery announced that they will open another Brooklyn waterfront location at Williamsburg Wharf. Breads is best known for their chocolate babka, plus croissants, baguettes, and more baked goods.

Blazers Sports Bar | Williamsburg | Opening Winter 2025-26

Blazers is a women’s sports bar opening on Bedford avenue, in the Old Man Hustle comedy club space. Everyone loves women’s sports, now you have a place to watch all the games, look for it to open in 2026.

Cafe Landwer | Williamsburg | Opening in 2026

Cafe Landwer, a Berlin based restaurant, is coming to Williamsburg in early 2026, taking over the space next to the Pod hotel. They started as a coffeehouse in Berlin and have expanded into dining over the past 80 years serving Mediterranean fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Goods Mart | Williamsburg | Opening January 2026

The Goods Mart, a convenience store focused on healthy snacks, drinks, pantry staples, is coming later this year to Williamsburg Wharf, the new 3.75-acre mixed-use waterfront development at 470 Kent Avenue. This will be the female-owned shop’s first location in Williamsburg.

The McCarren | Williamsburg | Opening Winter 2025-26

The McCarren, a new sports bar, cocktail hub and daytime coffee spot will be opening in the former Thief Bar space on Union Ave. Look for doors to open in Winter 2025/26.

Allegretto | Williamsburg | Opening date TBA

From the team behind Francie, this new spot at 132 Broadway will serve Neapolitan pizzas, Southern Italian snacks, and more dishes like Fried Bucatini and Little Gem Caesar, plus Italian-inspired cocktails and wine on tap. The space will feature a wood-fired oven and a garden backyard.

Border Town | Greenpoint | Opening Winter 2025

Border Town, the popular breakfast taco pop-up, is expanding into a 40-seat casual restaurant at 189 Nassau Street. Mornings will feature tacos made with their famous tortillas, along with breakfast burritos, aguas frescas, and Mexican pastries. Dinner will include botanas and cocktails like micheladas and mezcalitas made with agave spirits such as mezcal, tequila, and bacanora.
