1. World Day of Play at Brooklyn Children’s Museum

2. Photoville Festival

Photoville is a free, family-friendly photography festival featuring 80 exhibits by local and international artists, on view from June 8 to June 22 in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Photoville will offer free kid-friendly activity packs at their information tent in Emily Warren Roebling Plaza during open hours from June 7 to 22.

3. Celebrate Pride in Brooklyn

5. Metropolitan Opera Summer Recital Series

An annual summer tradition, the Metropolitan Opera will perform open-air in Brooklyn Bridge Park as part of their Summer Recital Series. Three of today’s most exciting young stars—soprano Leah Hawkins, tenor Mario Chang, and bass-baritone Michael Sumuel—come together for an effervescent evening of favorite arias, duets, and ensembles, accompanied by Met assistant conductor Dimitri Dover at the piano.

6. Summer Sunday for Families at Atlantic Terminal Plaza: Father’s Day Edition!

Note: This event has been rescheduled from Saturday, June 14 due to rai in the forecast. Join Brooklyn Bridge Parents and Atlantic Terminal Mall for for Summer Saturdays: Father’s Day Edition! There will be free water play, kids activities, Father’s Day crafts, and more fun for ages 0-12 on the Atlantic Terminal Mall Plaza! Come out to play, cool off and make friends!

7. Big Family Get Down in Brooklyn Bridge Park

This ticketed waterfront bash will be packed with music and dancing for families, all to support Brooklyn Bridge Park. Enjoy crafts, games, bubbles, a musical petting zoo, and more for the little ones. Bring a picnic or buy food and drinks from local food trucks. Takes place at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 6. 9. The 43nd Annual Mermaid Parade
Saturday, June 21 | 1pm | FREE | Coney Island
Founded in 1983, the Mermaid Parade is the largest art parade in the country and features tons of DIY-costumed mermaids, mermen, sea monsters, pirates, and brass bands marching down Surf Avenue and the Boardwalk. The Parade starts at 1pm, rain or shine, on West 21st and Surf Avenue. It rolls east to West 10th Street, proceeds to the Boardwalk, and continues to Steeplechase Plaza, where the Parade ends under the Parachute Jump. stick around after the parade for the annual opening-of-swimming-season splash on the beach (around 4pm).

10. Public pools opening for the summer!
Friday, June 27 | 11am-7pm | FREE | Various locations
