Greenlight’s annual Juneteenth event, highlighting Black creatives and topics that directly impact Black livelihood, is back for its fourth year! This year, they are hosting their first kids-focused event, celebrating the work of several Black children’s book authors and illustrators with a family-friendly evening of reading, arts and crafts, food and fun! Award-winning author and poet Zetta Elliot headlines with a Story Time of her new book A Song for Juneteenth, an emotional and lyrical picture book that celebrates the importance of Juneteenth as well as the resilience of Black families and the power of community. Following the reading, award-winning artist Jonell Joshua leads an interactive arts and crafts activity for kids and adults to enjoy!
