Whether you are looking for a creative cocktail spot in East Williamsburg, a fresh Japanese experience in Park Slope, or a traditional German meal in Bay Ridge, this month’s roundup highlights spots across the borough to enjoy with family and friends. Brooklynites can also look forward to a new soccer bar in Greenpoint and a Chinese-American restaurant in Park Slope opening in June.
Café Bar J.F. | Williamsburg
Café Bar J.F. opened at 50 Withers Street on May 13th. This spacious South American tavern offers a warm and approachable environment for local gatherings, focusing on great service and a shared love for the community.

Bar Susanne | Williamsburg
Bar Susanne, located across from Domino Park, opened in mid-May for its first seating. This riverfront raw bar boasts fresh seafood with stunning views. They are located next door to their sister location Cafe Susanne, an all day cafe with coffee and cocktails.

Last Crumb | Williamsburg
The internet’s favorite cookies just opened their first retail location at 144 N 8th Street, where they are baked fresh daily. Come try them any day from 11:00am-10:00pm. Unique flavors include Donkey Kong (banana cream pie), The Floor is Lava (chocolate lava), and We’re Onto To You Doughboy (cinnamon roll).

Kinda Nice | East Williamsburg
Kinda Nice is a new women-owned cocktail located at 168 Borinquen Place. Try their Kinda Peachy Cocktail with mezcal, peach, and cilantro or their Greek Salad Martini – their most popular cocktail! The Caesar Salad Deviled Eggs are already a customer favorite.

The Sparrow | South Williamsburg

Variety Coffee | Greenpoint
Variety Coffee has opened its second Greenpoint location and tenth NYC location at 190 Franklin Street since opening in Williamsburg in 2008. This location is open daily from 7:00am-9:00pm. Order from their menu that reflects the various growing seasons of different coffee growing regions, and strives to showcase only the freshest coffees.

Field & Pantry | Prospect Heights
Farm.One has opened a specialty farm general store located in their (former) garage bay. This neighborhood farm market will be feature iconic products, grab & go prepared foods, and their very own farm.one signature line. They are open Saturday 8:00am-6:00pm and Sunday-Friday 8:00am-8:00pm.

After closing its location on 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge, Schnitzel Haus has reopened this May at 114 Bay Ridge Avenue in the former space of Casa Pepe. Stop by when you are in the mood for würst, schnitzel, or pierogi. They also offer bingo, trivia, and live entertainment. Follow them on social media to learn about their events.

Komenori | Park Slope
Komenori is a new Japanese spot built around rice, nori, and really good ingredients. Whether it’s a quick bite or a full table, Komenori is made to be easy, approachable, and always satisfying. They are located at 397 5th Avenue and open for dinner Tuesday-Sunday.
Cookies N’ Cream South Slope | Park Slope
The latest location of Cookies N’ Cream has opened in Park Slope, joining their other locations in Greenpoint, Dyker Heights, and Staten Island. Families can enjoy freshly baked warm cookies, creamy ice cream, and thick milkshakes.

Drums & Flats | Park Slope
Drums & Flats opened in early May in the former Alchemy space on 5th Avenue. They are open Sunday-Thursday 4:00pm-12:00am and Friday & Saturday 4:00pm-2:00am. Try their hot honey or lemon pepper wings with some wagyu pigs in a blanket. They also have a variety of vegetarian and vegan options like a beyond meat burger, fried cheese curds, mac & cheese, and a classic caesar.

Maman | DUMBO
Maman, the NYC based French bakery and cafe, has opened its latest location at 66 Water Street. Enjoy a dreamy dessert, fresh salad, or a new summer-inspired beverage.

Lonnies Restaurant Bar | Boerum Hill
The owners of Ingas Bar have recently opened Lonnies on Bond Street. Diners can look forward to trying housemade tagliatelle, brick chicken, and grilled bluefish. They are currently serving dinner and will be expanding to brunch and outdoor dining soon.

Socceria | Opening June 11, 2026
Opening this June at 46 Norman Avenue in Greenpoint, Socceria is Brooklyn’s first soccer-focused sports bar from the acclaimed Taqueria Ramirez team. James Beard finalist Chef Giovanni Cervantes is elevating the game-day experience with a menu of unique tacos and Mexican specialties inspired by traditional cantinas. The spacious corner spot is an ideal destination for families to catch World Cup matches starting June 11th, featuring everything from brunch to evening events. They are currently having soft opening events if you want to stop by to check out the space before the big games!

Park Slope
Kings Co Imperial | Opening June 15, 2026
The beloved Williamsburg Chinese‑American spot Kings Co Imperial is heading to Park Slope, taking over the former Stone Park Cafe events space next door to the restaurant on 3rd Street. The family-style menu features staples like Pork Soup Dumplings, Sesame Shrimp Toast, Wonton Soup, and Many Mushroom Beijing Street Noodles, alongside new additions including gluten-free Beef Fan Fan Dumplings and Sichuan Crispy Duck (available on a first-come, first-served basis). Rooted in wok cooking, dishes are served continuously as they are prepared, preserving the immediacy, texture, and “breath of the wok” that defines the kitchen’s approach. In the coming months, the Park Slope location will also debut an exclusive Noodle Bar Lunch program designed to welcome both solo diners and smaller groups.

Bushwick
Bark Barbecue | Opening Spring 2026
Dominican barbecue favorite Bark is expanding from its Time Out Market stall in Dumbo to a flagship in Bushwick with a bar program and expanded menu. Families and groups can expect smoked brisket, chicharron, longaniza, and plenty of hearty sides in a casual space that works well for bigger kids and multi‑family outings.

Carroll Gardens
Trudie’s Tavern | Opening Spring 2026
From the team behind Brooklyn favorites Gertie and Gertrude’s, Trudie’s Tavern will be a cozy pub‑style restaurant coming to Carroll Gardens this year. The spot is expected to focus on elevated comfort food and a laid‑back neighborhood vibe, giving parents another option for casual meals close to home.
Cobble Hill
Lou & Bev’s | Opening Spring 2026
Next door to Confidant on Atlantic Avenue, Lou & Bev’s will be an all‑day bakery, pizza restaurant, and wine bar from the same team. By day, families can stop in for pastries and coffee; by night, the space transitions into a pizza‑and‑wine hangout.
Whole Foods | Opening to be announced
According to Crain’s, Whole Foods has signed a lease to take over the corner storefront at 182 Smith Street between Warren Street and Wyckoff Street, right on the border of Cobble Hill and Boerum Hill. The approximately 35,000 square feet space was recently vacated by Rite Aid following the pharmacy chain’s ongoing bankruptcy closures. While rumors of a grocery store taking over the spot have been swirling, the newly inked lease confirms that the national grocer is planting its flag on Smith Street. Because the lease was just signed, there is no official timeline yet for the build-out or opening day.

Prospect Heights
Grimm Tavern | Opening Spring 2026
The team behind Grimm Artisanal Ales is opening Grimm Tavern in the former Olmsted space at 659 Vanderbilt Avenue this June. This new Prospect Heights spot will offer a relaxed, all-day environment featuring Grimm beers on tap and a menu of comfort food favorites like burgers and roast chicken. Just a short walk from the park, it’s set to be a welcoming destination for families and neighbors alike.
Red Hook
Hōp | Opening Fall 2026
Opening at 358 Van Brunt Street in Red Hook, Hōp is a Cambodian-inspired restaurant and bar slated to debut later this year. Led by a seasoned team behind several neighborhood favorites, the spot will feature bold flavors and a variety of rice and noodle dishes. It’s an ideal destination for date nights or dinners with older kids eager to explore new cuisines.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que | Closed in May
The smoked-brisket institution at 604 Union Street has closed and the building is slated for demolition to make way for a new apartment development. The restaurant served its final meal on May 13th, marking a bittersweet departure for the many locals who have seen it as a neighborhood fixture since 2011.

Agi’s Counter | Last dinner service June 14, 2026 and last lunch service July 5, 2026
Agi’s Counter in Crown Heights has announced it will be closing at its Franklin Avenue location this summer after 5 years, but it is looking for a new home. Follow them on Instagram for updates.

Rose Marie | Last dinner service June 13, 2026
Rose Marie has announced that their final dinner service, less than a year after opening. Neighbors will miss their delicious patty melts.
