The FIFA World Cup 2026 is taking place in 16 host cities, one of them New York and 1.2 million fans are expected to visit our region for this mega event. All local matches will take place at Met life Stadium in New Jersey from Saturday, June 13 to Sunday, July 19 which is the Final of the tournament. You might get a chance to watch Germany versus Ecuador or Panama versus England live in the Tristate area. Fan Zone | 6/13 -7/19 | Brooklyn Bridge Park
NYC will be hosting 5 free official fan zones, one in each borough. These fan zones and pop-ups will offer live match viewings, interactive soccer experiences, meet-and-greets, local food vendors, and more. For Brooklyn, Brooklyn Bridge Park has been chosen to host an official fan fest from June 13 to July 19. No details have been shared about the fan zone details in Brooklyn Bridge Park yet, stay tuned. Tickets for the free fan zones will be available on the website.

How to get tickets & How to get to the stadium
Closer to the tournament, fans will be able to purchase any remaining inventory on a first come, first served basis. No more lotteries are being run. Public transportation and ride shares are the only options for getting to the Met Life Stadium. On-site parking is not allowed.

What to Expect: Rockefeller Center is completely transforming for the tournament. The famous Rink will become an immersive, interactive soccer pitch complete with giant screens for live match viewing. Families can enjoy live musical performances, interactive fan experiences across the plaza, and potential appearances by soccer legends. Be sure to check out the Channel Gardens, which will be turned into a living “Champions’ Garden” paying tribute to the eight nations that have previously lifted the World Cup trophy.

What to Expect: The German Football Association (DFB) is taking over a massive 21,000-square-foot space in Chelsea to bring German soccer culture to NYC for the duration of the tournament. The space is free and designed to welcome fans of all ages. Families will particularly love the “Soccer Gallery Area,” which offers interactive fan experiences, exhibits on soccer history, and the rare chance to take photos with some of Germany’s most famous championship trophies. When you are ready to watch a match, the Match Day Area offers public viewing of selected games on big screens, complete with stage programming, talks, and authentic German food and pretzels at fan-friendly prices.
