More Open Streets in BoCoCa, Brooklyn Heights & Fort Greene

In addition to the Open Streets in Downtown Brooklyn and near Prospect Park that opened last week, the mayor announced that the following streets are becoming pedestrian streets on Thursday 5/14:

BoCoCa:

  • 1st Place: Smith Street to Henry Street
  • 2nd Place: Smith Street to Henry Street
  • 4th Place: Smith Street to Henry Street
  • Cobble Hill Park: Congress Street
  • St. Marks Place: 3rd Avenue to 4th Avenue

Fort Greene/Clinton Hill:

  • Hall Street: Park Avenue to Myrtle Avenue 
  • South Portland Avenue: South Elliot Street Dekalb Avenue

Brooklyn Heights:

  • Joralemon Street: Hicks Street to Furman Street
  • Korean War Veterans Plaza: Cadman Plaza East

Open Streets are available daily, 8 am to 8 pm (unless otherwise noted) for pedestrians and cyclists to use the roadbed of the street while maintaining at least six feet of distance from others. Opening hours may vary by location due to NYPD staffing.

New Temporary Bike Lanes

The mayor also announced approximately nine miles of new temporary bike lanes. The following streets are now bike lanes in our neighborhood:

  • 4th Avenue, between 1st Street and Flatbush Avenue
  • Ashland Place/Navy Street, between Hanson Place and Sands Street
