Brooklyn Preschool of Science Investigates ‘How Things Move’ (sponsored)

Brooklyn Preschool of Science recently celebrated the magic of motion with a series of “How Things Move” days at its three locations. To help kids learn STEAM concepts in a playful way, executive director Carmelo Piazza and his team of teachers offered a variety of activities.

Kids used construction paper, scissors, and their imaginations to create and show off their own “shape” robots. They cut out, painted, and flew their own paper helicopters. They even played around with coding, using KIBO, a robot that they program using a series of commands printed on wooden blocks. “Whether it’s a robot or a bug, kids are fascinated with watching how things move,” said Piazza. “When they’re excited about something, they can’t help but learn along the way.”
