Free ice skating for NYC residents in Brooklyn Bridge Park

The new ice skating rink Glide under the Brooklyn Bridge offers free weekly sessions for NYC residents on Saturday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. You must provide proof of New York City residency either IDNYC, driver’s license or NYC public library card upon arrival. Skate rental is not included in this offering, however locals have reported back to us that they got free skates upon arrival. You can book maximum 2 tickets in one order. This offering is not advertised anywhere, here is our insight on how to grab these free tickets:

Free skating sessions for locals:

  • Tuesday afternoons: 4.30 – 5.20 pm and 5.45 – 6.35 pm sessions (arrive at least 15 minutes prior)
  • Saturday mornings: 9 – 9.50 am and 10 – 10.5o am sessions (arrive at least 15 minutes prior)

When to book the tickets:

  • Check the website Monday mornings, the week you want to go skating, the Saturday morning sessions are posted online Monday mornings
  • Check the website Thursday morning, the week before you want to go skating on Tuesdays, the Tuesday afternoon sessions are posted online Thursday mornings
